Hmm the 2nd ones 'Book Type' values look a little odd. The 'ADIP' one should say DVD+R DL and the 'Last Recorded' one should say DVD-ROM. NOT the other way around. I'm wondering if your burner isn't correctly padding out the second layer like it's supposed to if the two don't match up. You should find it takes aaaaages at either the sync cache bit or the closing track/disc bit - as it would/should be burning 1.3 gig of 'nothing' to even out the layers. Post your log any maybe that'll help things. Btw, when you say it can't be read in other dvdroms, are you talking about standalone players or basic pc dvd drives (i.e. not burners) ?

Both burnt and verified ok. However, the BenQ failed to fully scan either of them and DVDInfoPro reported 'no data received for 20 seconds' on several occasions, followed by some 'Overflow!' errors.

Update the drives firmware and try again. The basic information window from the right hand side within ImgBurn would have probably been enough info btw... but thanks for the extra stuff!

Here's an easy version for you lfc Take an 8bit value. The largest number (unsigned) that it can hold is 255. 1111 1111 in binary = 255. (Rightmost 1 is worth 1, 2nd is worth 2, 3rd worth 4, 4th worth 8, 5th worth 16, 6th worth 32, 7th worth 64, 8th worth 128 = giving us 128 + 64 + 32 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 255) Now if I add 2 to 255 we get 257, yeah. 257 is represented as 1 0000 0001 in binary. You'll notice we now have 9 bits. That's no good because were's only doing the calculation in 8.... so lets forget about that 9th one! Now we have 0000 0001 Well that represents 1. So basically, our calculation of 255 + 2, when using a single 8bit variable for storing the answer, equals 1! What was happening for the layerbreak stuff was basically the same as that only on a larger scale.

CRC errors are drive/media/firmware issues. From a software point of view, I can't force a CRC error in the burn any more than I can stop it. As everybody in the world will tell you (including the 2 people who replied earlier!), Ritek DL media is pretty awful. Verbatims are the way to go. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say 'reset offset flag'. Where are you seeing / reading about such a thing?!

This only effects ISO's without MDS files and without a layerbreak flag already in the IFO - so basically, only DL images made by 'dumb' programs! A 1.2.0.0 release has been on the cards for some time now... I just like to make sure I've caught/fixed most the problems. Sometimes these things take a while to find their way out of the woodwork
