  1. Thanks for your reply Lightning! I realize that I should be burning across both layers, but I don't know exactly what to select so that it works on all players. I guess I assumed that it would work on a single layer easiest....I guess I was wrong; I'm just doing the rest of the copies on the -R media now. As for the SB03 firmware, thanks for this, but there have been some posts: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f105/new-s203-sb03-issues-237535/ about this new firmware making the drive wonky/burns bad. If you ask me, I should have stuck with a NEC 3520 series drive...but I didn't have any IDE ports leftover. This is now my second Samsung burner, the first one shorted on first usage and I saw the smoke/smelt it too It seems I am not the only one that has had to RMA my Samsung drive....cdfreaks has lots of posts about this. Thanks again, Jonathan
  2. just a thought: is this because I decided to only burn the info to one layer? Maybe it has something to do with the program?
  3. because all I have is the MKM 001 media for my dvd backups and some dvd -Rs for linux ISOs. My uncle asked me to make a copy of this home movie, which is only 2gigs and he wants it to last (apparently the dye used with the verbatim is supposed to be very good) and I can also set the booktype with the +R media. In any case, I just burnt the same thing (he wanted multiple copies) to the -R media I have and it finalized the disc and verified it fine. So the question stands: what gives?
  4. The disc burns fine, but hangs at 99% finalization. I can even hear the drive spin down that it is done. here's the log: I 16:25:55 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! 5. Hi all, I am making a back-up of my dvd with CloneCD. When I make the .dvd file with CloneCD and the burn it with ImgBurn and try and verify it; it always fails at the same specific sectors. Can anyone tell me what why this is? Thanks! Jonathan
  6. Hi all, I just recently found out that imgburn is the continuation of DVDDecrypter. I was wondering the following: I make 1:1 backups of my dvds using dvddecrypter and anydvd, is this possible with imgburn too? I just set imgburn to read mode, use the anydvd elby dll and that it should create mds files and it's just the same as if I had used dvddecrypter? If there are any other settings please let me know! Thank you! Cheers, Jonathan
