  1. Hello again. Although the instructions offered did cure the problem with imgburn auto running for the next use, it seems that some setting in that program is changing my auto play preferences because it reverts back to opening Imgburn and I have to reset it over and over. Is there a setting in Imgburn that stops this program from wanting to overwrite my auto play preferences? thanks
  2. Using Vista I couldn't find the setting with my computer, however in the help and support area I searched for autoplay, and I found its list of options. Image Burn was in fact set as a default when a DVD was installed. I changed this to "Always Ask" and it seems fine now. thanks very much for your speedy and accurate reply!!!
  3. Hello, and thanks in advance for the help. After installing Image Burn and muddling through its various abilities, I still seem to be having one problem at this point that I can't figure out, I hope you can help. Image burn starts up and launches it's window whenever I put in a blank DVD or a burned DVD. It also launched a few times with a commercial DVD movie that I was planning on watching. I looked at the startup list via SEARCH (windows vista) then MSCONFIG and I don't see any entry that is set to have Image burn running in the background. I opened Image Burn and looked at the SETTINGS option and when I saw the "AUTO INSERT NOTIFICATION" tick box under the DEVICE tab, I thought I'd found the setting causing this. However, when I clicked on it, an Image Burn message box opened and told me that this was a windows setting and had nothing to do with Image Burn. I'm unable to find a setting that would prevent ONLY Image Burn from launching when I put a DVD in, I don't want to prevent Windows from recognizing a DVD by disabling its AUTORUN feature. Thanks again for the help
  4. Hello. I'm new to the forum and I'd like to ask a question. I'm backing up some of my DVDs and I have a new Laptop computer with Windows Vista. I'm unable to load my old copy of Nero 6 and I just learned about this ImgBurn program. I ran the DVD through DVD Shrink and put the files on my hard drive. I have followed the instructions in the guide on how to burn a DVD from the listed files that Shrink put in the VIDEO_TS folder. I get to the point of entering a volume label and the IMGBURN program says it cant find the TOC At that point it stalls and also mentions "device not ready (Unable to recover TOC) Do I have to make some special "volume label" name? What am I doing wrong? thanks very much
