  2. I integrated SP1 into my Windows 7 Ult ISO and when burning it to disc noticed ImgBurn recognized it as Windows 7 SP1. So I was looking at the XML file in the "sources" folder of the install wim and notice that file still has Windows 7 as the original version without SP1. So I was wondering where ImgBurn looks for information as to the version when getting the ISO ready to burn to DVD. Also Thanks for a great tool! Have a nice summer!
  3. Never mind. I found it. Just needed to do a little more digging. Sorry.
  4. I have read ImgBurn has a selection similar to Nero Info Tool for my CD/DVD drives but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it is gone now? Can anyone help?

    DVD Writer Decisions.

Yikes! I didn't expect such a precise, and unequivocal answer. Exactly what I was hoping for. I'm ordering a LG WH16NS60 tonight! Thank You Very Much!
  6. So I was curious about DVDinfoPro on LUK's recommendation and downloaded and installed the 7 day trial. I chose not to keep the program and clicked on the Uninstall icon in the DVDinfoPro folder on Windows 7 Start/Programs. It was mostly uninstalled but a message popped up saying not everything was removed and I would like to remove ALL of DVDinfoPro. I tried going to the website but only found a giant advertising page with no link for support. Has anyone successfully removed ALL of DVDinfoPro and would you be willing to pass along what you had to do to make that happen?

Thank You dbminter: Perhaps I shall look into just moving up to BD writer if it includes the capabilities I want. Appreciate your time in replying! plain
  8. I am wanting to purchase a Plextor PX-891SAF-PLUS and I am looking for advice or user experience. I only use ImgBurn to burn data disks or sometimes music cd's. So I am wanting to start DVD dual layer writing and wonder if this writer is good for "Verbatim AZO DVD+R DL 8.5GB 8X with Branded Surface"? I burn maybe 12 discs a year but this could increase dramatically soon. I think I have just about gone in circles trying to find opinions I trust on this so any help here is much appreciated. Plextor also has a "Retail" box of this writer which has Plextools which I am assuming is the Plextor equivalent to ImgBurn? Thanks for any help.
  9. After trying different media I played a hunch and bought a new burner. That was the whole problem all along. I tried to update the firmware on the old one but it wouldn`t take so somewhere in the last 3 or 4 years I did something to toast it. Well, the new one works fine so I`m good. Just wanted to let ya`ll know the outcome. Thanks again for your help Lightning UK!. plain
  10. My apologies for ignoring the pink box.........
  11. Thanks for your reply Lightning UK: I tried again today so that I would have a log of what went on when ImgBurn became unhappy with my requests.... I checked out my media with the LiteOn disk checker and of course it says all is good. I`ve also tried different speeds and asking ImgBurn to include long file names etc. It appears from the log ImgBurn can`t read sector 0. So, since no one is preventing me from jumping to conclusions at the moment I would think my media is at fault. I have also used a cleaning device (CD with brushes) on the burner so maybe that isn`t it. Anyway, it is kind of you to reply and hopefully with you guys help I will learn something about how to copy folders to DVD. Thanks, Plain PS, I only included the part of the log after ImgBurn was ready to burn to disk. If you wish to see everything I will clean up my personal information and send the whole thing. Thanks Log090810offailedwriteoffolders.txt
  12. Hi All: I have a Lite-on LH-20A1H DVDRW burner. I can burn iso`s which I have downloaded but when I ask ImgBurn to burn an iso it made or ask it to copy several folders to a DVD it is unable to do so. I get this error............ cannot format medium - incompatible medium When I ask Nero to do it I get errors as well. When I ask Windows to do it I get a message telling me XP can`t read the disk and it is either corrupt or of a format unknown to XP. I`ve tried Imation DVD+R, Memorex DVD -RW, and Maxell DVD +RW, all to no avail. I`m going to purchase Verbatim tomorrow and try that but wanted to ask: Do you guys get the same results when the disks are not good enough? Burn iso but not copy folders or burn ImgBurn created iso? Very puzzling. I have worked on this all day, made sure DMA was enabled, uninstalled and installed controllers, enabled CD burning check mark in Windows etc. When I try to burn ImgBurn iso I get I/O errors on almost every sector. ???? Thanks for your perspectives. Maybe they will cut down on my time wasted trouble-shooting something I could not have fixed with the equipment at hand. Plain

    I/O Error!

Woo Eeee! That was fast! I thought it might have been my burner but it turns out it was the disk. Thanks a bunch. Plain
  14. Hi All: I have used IMG Burn for some time without difficulty until recently. Now when I try to use it I get........ I/O Error! Device: [5:0:0] LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H LL07 (E:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation; Check Condition CDB: A1 11 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Blank Sense Area: 70 00 02 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 06 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: No Reference Position Found I`m sure this is not due to IMB Burn as it has worked flawlessly. Just to make sure I uninstalled, and reinstalled IMG Burn to make sure Windoze hadn`t messed it up. Any suggestions? Thanks, Plain
