  1. The disc that I am trying to copy is one that we received from the place that did my mothers MRI of her knee prior to surgery. I am guessing that is it a standard cdr and the only information on the disc itself is the name of the practice, their phone number and location - sort of lightscribed onto the disc or the discs are purchased with all that information on them to begin with. I did go ahead with the settings that were preset by the software program (figured that if it didn't work out I could always delete it and start over again). The preset option in the section for destination file is .bin so I left it that way and let it create the file. When it was done there was a .bin and a .iso file on my desktop. So I just used the .iso file when following the steps for "How to write an image file to disk" and al went well until the verify part of the process. For whatever reason I got an error stating I/O Error! Device: [0:0:0] TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M SBO6 (F:)(USB) CDB: BE 00 00 00 10 46 00 00 01 F8 00 00 Interprtation: Read CD - Sector: 4166 Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired. with three boxes - cancel try again continue I kept clicking on try again and the same error would reappear so I tried continue with the same problem so I just selected cancel and closed the program. Now I'm not sure it if had anything to do with the fact the the pc does not have a cd-writer in it so I use an external cd/dvd writer (which I have used in the past with the program with no problems) or if it was because of the fact that I put a cd-rw disc in to burn the .iso image to. Either way, I later installed the disc into the cd drive of the pc and was able to open it and view the films just like on the original disc. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for getting back to me ~ I greatly appreciate it. However, I do have another question. When I select the read option it is stating that it is saving the file as a .bin yet in the second set of steps it says to look for the file and that I should be looking for a *.cue or *.mds file and that if I can't locate one of those to look for *.iso. If I am trying to create another *.iso file should I be changing the option in step one in destination file to *.iso instead? There is no option for *.cue or *.mds ~ just *.iso, *.bin, *.img and all files (*.*). Thanks so Very Much
  3. Hello, My mother has some x-rays (an MRI to be exact) that she was given on a disc to take to another doctors office. I have used imgburn in the past to burning iso files but never to copy a disc. I just want to be sure that I am doing this correctly before I go and take this disk to the new doctor (want to have a copy for us in case we need it again and don't get this one back). Anyway, I am guessing that in order to do this I would need to follow the steps on How to Create an Image File from a Disc using ImgBurn (http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6379) and then follow the steps on How to Write an Image File to a disc (http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=61) Is this correct? Thanks So Very Much
  4. Hello, I have used ImgBurn in the past without any problems. I am running windows xp professional with all the updates. I wanted to write an .iso file to disk and followed the steps I had done in the past and as shown on the link http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=61 and http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=screenshots However, it was unable to write the .iso file. I started to burn the image but then I got an I/O error. I then clicked to retry and got another I/O error so selected cancel. I do not understand since I have used these discs in the past without any problems. I have attached a word document where I pasted copies of the error screens that I got as well as a copy of the log file. Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks So Very MuchIMG Burn error.doc IMG Burn error.doc ImgBurn.log IMG Burn error.doc
  5. When I clicked to burn the iso image nothing happened - that is when I noticed that there was a little i in blue (icon) which is why I clicked on it to see what it had to say.
  6. Hello, I am trying to write / burn an iso to a cdr and there is a little blue i at the bottom of the screen (just above the write button) when I click on it it states that it can not find the location of my installation of DVD Info Pro. I didn't realize that I also needed to have DVD Info Pro in order to burn an iso image that was created with ImgBurn. Why is this? I'm certain that I have created an image of a disc with ImgBurn before and then burned/wrote it to a new cdr using ImgBurn so why am I now getting this? TIA lnjr

    I/O error

Thanks! I'll try that and see what happens. Will changing that setting cause me problems if trying to do something else besides burn an iso image? (sorry if that sounds stupid but I'm not real knowledgeable on this stuff). Thanks Again!
  8. If you are looking for something to copy/convert the dvd I recently installed Eaxy VCD which will copy/convert a dvd and put it into either vcd, xvcd, svcd or xsvcd format. Eazy VCD can be found at http://www.eazyvcd.tk/. Make sure to download and install the proper aspi layer as well (which is also at this site) There may be a newer software out to do the same thing (I don't think that this has been updated in quite some time - but it is working on my pc with windows xp pro sp2)

    I/O error

I'm not sure what is meant by using the TAO write type for burning, maybe the drive just doesn't like doing SAO onto those discs. ---- Especially since these are the same discs that I have been using the whole time. I did try using a verbatim which I had just gotten since I was running out cdr's but the same thing happened. Just to let you know, the drive works with no problems if I just want to copy files to the drive and then burn them to the disc without using img burn. I do know that the first time I had this problem I did a search for updated drivers for this drive and after installing the update the problem was gone until today. (and let me tell you trying to find updated drivers for this internal mitsumi wasn't easy) {has the other person with the mistumi tried searching for updated drivers? - I did that too just in case}. The only other thing that changed was that I was using the 2.4.1.0 version (when I updated the drivers for the mitsumi) and since then have updated to the 2.4.2.0 version of img burn. Could that be the problem? I decided to try Active ISO - just to see if there is a problem / issue with software and the drive / burner, but that is not the problem because Active ISO burned the iso image to the disc with no problems. I really would prefer to use IMG BURN and uninstall Active ISO. Any suggestions? TIA

    I/O error

Hello, I have used image burn a few times over the past month or so with no problems. I have started to have an I/O Error coming up. I tried to burn an iso image and I keep getting the I/O error. After this occurred the first time I tried using the internal burner to simply copy some files to the a cd-r by using the windows xp steps. I copied files to the cd drive and then right clicked to "copy these files to cd" and the process worked without problem. So I again tried to use image burn to copy/burn the iso to a cdr with the same problem again. I have had this problem all 3 times now. The error states: I/O Error! Device: [1:0;0] Mitsumi CR-48x5te 1.8 (D") (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation : Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 00 05 C0 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 1472 - 1503 Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Incompatible Medium Installed However, they are the exact same cdr's that are working to copy files to cd without image burn and the same ones I have been using this whole time. I did make sure that the updated drivers are installed (which is what I did the first time this problem occurred) for the internal cd writer so that is not the problem. The only thing that is different is that I have installed an external dvd writer to my pc. But I don't really understand how that could be the problem since the internal writer still works without the image burn software (but I could be wrong) Any suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for getting back to me and so Quickly too! When I converted the DVD to VCD using Eazy VCD I selected the options as follows: Encoding is XVCD and for the CD-R size I selected 1 CD-R so that it would in fact fit onto a CD-R (since I don't have a DVD burner - looking into getting an external one but not sure which one just yet since I just started looking). Anyway, in the output folder section I selected the BIN/CUE. There was a notation stating that if making an X(S)VCD you must turn off "standard VCD compliance". It also stated that if you output to a BIN/CUE Image, you will need to Select "burn from Image and to make sure you burn as Disk At Once. I now have a specific folder after converting the dvd to svcd for this process and there appear to be 2 what appear to be iso images - but when I right click and check the properties one states it is a BIN Image and the other is a CUE Image, an MPEG file, a text document named cell times and an EVT file. Do I just select the folder with all of this in it? Thanks Again, lnjr
  12. Thanks for the info. I sort of figured that I should be able to but just wanted to make sure. I don't mean to sound stupid but how do I check my DMA? I did try to figure that out once before but never did. I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2. Thanks! lnjr
  13. Hello, I have used Eazy VCD to copy and convert a DVD to VCD format. Now I need to burn it to a CD-R. According to the instructions from EazyVCD I need to select the option Burn from Image or Open File and to select Disk at Once (DAO) not Track-at-Once (TAO). Can someone please tell me what special steps I need to do in order to burn the CD-R that way? I know how to copy a CD and then burn it to a new CD-R and I know how to burn a CD-R using an ISO since I also did that when I made a slipstream CD-R of my Windows XP Pro with the SP2 from nLite. But am not certain of how to go about ensuring that this CD-R is burned as Disk at Once and NOT Track at Once. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Very Much, lnjr
  14. Hello, I was just wondering if ImgBurn will work in the background while I do something else on the PC at the same time? I ask because I have a DVD that I would like to copy and according to ImgBurn the process is going to take approximately 1hour 45minutes. Thanks! lnjr
