  1. Hi guys, Unfortunately for us, Pioneer has made the hard and fast decision to cramp the RITEKF1 MID to 12x locked in descriptors. As follows, is a dumpout of all the available descriptors/write strategy fields under the 1.37 firmware, on my 110D@A10XLA: Media Information Region information N/A not a DVD-VIDEO Media code/Manufacturer ID RITEKF1 UDF Format Type V1.02 UDF Volume Name None UDF Application id None UDF Implementation id Nero UDF Recording Date/Time (mm/dd/yyyy) 11/26/2005 20:29:39 Format Capacity 4.38GB(4.71GB) Book Type DVD-R Media Type DVD-R Manufacturer Rated Speed 16.0x 22160KBps Available Write Descriptor CLV 12.0x 16620KBps Available Write Descriptor CLV 8.0x 11080KBps Available Write Descriptor CLV 6.0x 8310KBps Available Write Descriptor CLV 4.0x 5540KBps Write Strategy Speed 4.0x 5540KBps 2x Speed OPC beta 09 2x Speed OPC power 0F 2x Write Strategy field 1 15 87 88 90 2x Write Strategy field 2 A8 82 00 20 00 00 4x Speed OPC beta 06 4x Speed OPC power 16 4x Write Strategy field 1 10 14 0F 0B 4x Write Strategy field 2 94 07 0D 0B 4x Write Strategy field 3 80 00 00 00 4x Speed OPC beta multi-pulse 09 4x Speed OPC power multi-pulse 1E 4x Write Strategy field 4 17 A7 89 85 4x Write Strategy field 5 B7 89 02 00 20 02 4x Write Strategy field 6 00 00 D0 00 00 Data area starting sector 30000h Data area end sector 23127Fh Linear Density 0.267um/bit Track Density 0.74um/track Number of Layers 1 Complete Media Code 00000000 00 6C 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 87 0D 13 .l...@....R..... 00000010 87 88 90 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 46 00 04 31 00 00 .....RITEKF..1.. 00000020 00 00 00 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 02 00 06 09 0F 15 ................ Yeah, I think its unfortunate too. . They have done the same thing with CMCMAGE0.1, which should write @ 8x, but only writes @ 6x, in the DVR-110. They have their reasons, that said. If you want some good 16x MID's for the drive, I recommend TYG03, MCC004, TTH02...etc.
