Yeah no matter what problems I'm having with my newer, better devices, that old Fujitsu with the Toshiba drive always works. It's my VW Bug. Anyway, in my Mac's HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N I've tried every speed and settings change, always with Verbatim DVD-R media. No luck, I just can't get a DVD out of it that's playable on a DVD player. I'm about to blame it on the optical drive itself. Any other thoughts on this?

Hi… I have 2 laptops in front of me. One is a PC with XP, the other a Mac with a windows partition running the same XP. Both have Imgburn 2.5.1.0. When I burn a ripped DVD on the Windows machine, it produces a perfectly working DVD that plays in my DVD player… I burn the exact same files with all the exact same settings on the Mac and the player can't play it. It spins for a few seconds and gives the message "cannot be played". Any insight on this will be greatly appreciated. The optical drive in the MacBook is: HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N. Both XP installs are from the same disc and have SP3. What other info is needed?
