    ImgBurn v2.5.8.0 Released!

Long time, no logon . Thanks to technology the last time I burned a disc was a few years ago, I have moved to harddisk storage and virtual drives. ImgBurn is still my number one burning and iso making program. Also, it's obvious LUK is getting a little money to include this extra software, which is keeping ImgBurn free. Novice computer users don't know this and complain about it. I would rather keep a good program free by adding extra software for a fee. And, thanks for the new version!

    Windows 8 Consumer Preview

I have also tried the Win 8 preview, absolutely hate it. I had Windows XP for ages, and I skipped over Vista. I was given a copy of 7 by a mate (an IT Technician) two weeks after it hit the shelves, and I have never gone back since. I will probably do the same to Win 8 and skip it. If windows turns to crap there is still Ubuntu to use, in fact I use Ubuntu more than Windows at the moment. I know Windows wants a piece of the exploding smartphone and tablet market, but please, don't change the desktop version, otherwise I'll use 7 until it's obselete.

    Hi, again.

Yes, it has been ages since I was last on here. the number of computers I now have has gone up to five (an ancient AMD K6-2 for my file server and internet proxy, performance computer, soon to be HTPC computer, audio recording computer, and the computer my parents are borrowing. Did I mention the Nvidia ION netbook that will join when I have the money?). And if you remember my old MR2 (1987 AW11 supercharged 5sp) was given the flick in March 2009, and got a 1989 SW20 GT (turbo) in September 2009 (red, with targas, of course). My main computer now contains a Asus P5Q-EM motherboard, Intel E6600 processor, Corsair HX520 power supply, Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066 4GB memory (a rare 4x 1GB kit), Nvidia 9800 GX2 graphics card, Seagate 320GB SATA harddrive, with a 200GB partition for Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (thanks to a mate in the computer industry, I got it free 10 days after release ), and an 80GB partition for Ubuntu 9.10 x64. The cpu is currently overclocked from 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz (33%), which makes my memory run at 1066Mhz. And I have a nice ViewSonic 22" Full HD monitor to polish it all off. My next build consists of Antec Skeleton case, Core i7, quad SLI, and as much DDR3 memory as the motherboard allows. Motherboard will be from Asus, haven't decided which board yet. Memory will probably be from Corsair, same with the power supply. Just recently bought an adapter clip for mounting my Zalman CPNS9500 LED onto Core i7 motherboards. Still have no trouble from ImgBurn, runs fine under Ubuntu 64 bit, as well as great on windows 7 64 bit. My brother isn't a computer nerd, but he uses ImgBurn to burn DVD+R's. He loves it . I have gotten back into programming again. I have started work on a 64 bit only proxy designed to run on Windows 7. I already have the main window opening and terminating correctly. I have called it Proxy64 and is being developed in C. I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, with the MSDN installed and the Windows SDK installed. I will be using NSIS as the installer. I got my first programming taste in Visual Basic in 2003, then moved on to Visual C in 2005. Anyway, good to be back. Comments welcome.

In New Zealand we have a plate service called Personalised Plates. Custom plates you buy are yours for life, unless you sell yours. The ones that fetch the most money (used custom plates) are full word plates up to 6 letters long ie rotary, monkey, sounds, ford, toyota, mazda, others include horsepower plates ie 507hp (BMW M5) and model based plates ie MR2 SC, 3SGTE, 4AGZE (I used to own an 87 MR2 SC 5sp manual). Pricing varies based on the style you want, a premium plate (choose all 6 letters + numbers) is NZ$799.
  6. I have noticed the file extensions are not refreshed after the setup program finishes installing, ie the icons don't change immediately. Can I suggest adding the following NSIS code to refresh them? !define SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED 0x8000000 ; Call this after all file extension registry entries have been written. System::Call 'Shell32::SHChangeNotify(i ${SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED}, i 0, i 0, i 0)' I use this for my own little installer that changes the audio icons to custom icons I made.

Yeah I was PM'ed by the same guy. I knew the person was not an Administrator, only LUK! is (I believe). I received mine at 20:06 hours NZ time on Monday 13th (yesterday). And when I logged in 20 minutes ago, hello, no PM. Big thanks for removing it, LUK!

64 bits and some other features

Here's hoping there will be a 64 bit version in the future. I've recently built a 64 bit system on a tight budget, and I am trying to find as many 64 bit apps as I can. I already found 7zip and Minefield (fork of firefox for 64 bit). It's an average system, here are the specs: Silverstone Sugo SF2 case Asus P5Q-EM motherboard (G45 chipset, ICH10R southbridge) Intel Core2 Duo 2.4GHz (E6600) processor 4x 1GB Kingston HyperX DDR2 667,800,1066 memory Nvidia 8800 GTX graphics card Corsair HX520w modular power supply Seagate 320GB 7200rpm SATA2 drive LG GSA H55L dvd burner Black 3 1/2 Floppy drive Viewsonic 22" widescreen LCD monitor supporting 1080p Windows XP 64 bit Edition SP2 Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit dual boot I use WINE on Ubuntu to run Imgburn. I don't trust any other software to burn my discs. I am also hoping more games have a 64 bit counterpart coming soon, too.

    Happy Birthday Cornholio7!

Happy birthday corny!! Sorry its soooooooo late . Its been months since I lasted posted on here. I have kind of forgotten about ImgBurn, because I use Ubuntu 8.04 on all three of my machines. My performance computer has a fairly fresh install of XP, I use it for games mostly. I now have a sata hd and firewire external drive (hd), 19 MB a second, baby!

    Something a little different

Yes, its been forever, but I thought an update is in order. My drum kit now features Sabian AAX Stage cymbals. 14" hats, 2x 16" crash, 18" crash, 20" ride and a 8" splash. And I have special ordered a 10x8 drum, still waiting for the shipment, should be in by the end of August. Hopefully a picture to come soon.

    Happy Birthday To Me!

Thanks alot guys, its been ages since I last visited. If you don't already know, I turned 22. ImgBurn is still going strong, still no errors. I bought a LG GSA-H55N OEM for $50NZD, plus courier ($6). I have also been bitten by the linux bug, and two of my three computers now runs ubuntu.
