  1. Sorry, I should have been clear. I have tried three drives. And yes, the last one, stupidly, is not a BD writer. My bad. It doesn't burn DVD's. i get that error. But it has been the same results with all drives. I am really unsure what gives. i am now pulling all cables and replacing them and taking a drive I know works 100% from my other system and transplanting it.
  2. Hey all, I have a Shuttle XPC SZ77R5 that is baffling me. The internal LG drive can read DVD's and BD's just fine. But I am unable to burn anything. I have pretty much an immediate failure with error Invalid Operational Code. I have tried different burners, switching from SATA 2 to 3 to 4, all with no success. However, I can attach an external drive via USB 3.0 and burn just fine. The PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate retail upgrade 64 bit. All drivers seem updated. I am baffled and ready to wipe the drive and do a clean install, but wanted to post here first. I 14:29:22 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! 3. I am having trouble finding any guides on how to format a BD-RE. I just get cryptic information on problems formatting, etc. Can someone lend me a hand? I need to see how to properly format a new BD-RE, as well as how to properly erase and re-format a BD-RE. Same question for a dual layer BD-RE. I just received one and would like to use it. But cannot find any useful guides. I am a complete virgin with this.
  4. I have found it impossible to install the latest ImgBurn. It wants Open Candy and that's all there is to it. My brother-in-law bought a new system and wanted ImgBurn, but he has a bad history with viruses, malware, addware, etc. ruining his Windows. ImgBurn is completely out of order by this latest move and so I just installed a version from back in 21011 I had on a backup drive. Honestly, this is just nuts.
  5. Thanks for the reply. The problem is, I tried that and the resulting disk has no picture. Just a black image. I can hear the sound. If I press display on the PS3's remote it'll come up with the stats. But there is no picture at all. I would love to know what is going wrong. I followed those instructions to the letter. I can't keep burning duel layered coasters.
  6. Gents (and ladies). I searched and came up empty. I know there are FAQ's and guides out there on this but right now, I am coming up dry (meaning I cannot find them). I once burned a few High Def discs using ImgBurn, specifically sporting events I had recorded in 1080i or 720p. Unfortunately, that was years ago and I have lost the guides on how to do it. Using MKVtoVOB I can convert the HD file to something one can burn on a normal DVD that plays High Def on a BD Player (I have only used them on my PS3). The file structure look like this... Now I would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction on how to take that burn to a DVD. Please forgive me if this question is stupid but I did look and have just thrown my hands up in frustration. You guys will likely know what to do. Thanks.
  7. Copied the image. Burned it and no troubles. It's now in my DVD player. Success!!! Thanks much. Appreciated.
  8. I will give it another go. tried it once and for some reason the layer break information wasn't there. Here I go again...
  9. That guide assumes you already have the image on your hard drive. I do not. What I have is the DVD itself and I simply cannot understand how to get that DVD imaged onto my drive, preserving the proper layer break. I hope I am making sense.
  10. I've read the FAQ's and researched, but I am no closer to figuring this out. Right now I have a DVD that is 7 GB containing a film I was part of. The layer break on there is in a place we chose. I want to create an image I can burn copies of and keep that chosen layer break. Now when I look at this guide... http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6379 It doesn't go into anything about DL. If I follow this, when it is time to burn the image onto a DL blank, ImgBurn tells me the layer break isn't chosen. Some assistance here would be greatly appreciated. ImgBurn just confounds me. I have other issues with another project, but this one is more important so I will address it first. Thanks, people.
