  1. SUCCESS!! File system: "ISO9660 + Joliet" as you requested. I checked two sub-folders of 72 files/folders and 60 files/folders. The CD and Hard drive numbers match. I counted folders. The numbers match. Also, the CD had no verify errors this time. On the previous Write, write speed was set to MAX. I changed Write speed to 12x for this Write. The CD is "12x10x32x". The Description area states "Current Profile: Unknown (FAILED!)" Do you think Write speed = 12x made any difference? My next project is copying an audio CD. I assume Imgburn does NOT write audio CDs. I own NERO 5. If I install any part of NERO will it interfere with Imgburn's operation? NERO 5 is an older version. If you have other suggestions on how to make an audio CD, I would like to know. Thanks again.
  2. Sorry for the time delay. I hope you are still paying attention. I made another backup today. The same problem repeated. I found at least two sub-folders with short lists of folders + files (about 50% complete.) The files on the hard drive ISO file are complete. Also, the file names in the ISO are limited to 8 chars. How do I fix that? But files are missing from the CD. I am attaching imgburn.log as requested. IMGBURN.log
  3. I used UltraISO to look at the hard disk image. All the files and folders seem to be there. That means that the files and folders are missing on the cd, but not in the hard drive .ISO. At least the problem area is smaller.
  4. I checked in Imgburn. Those are checked in Imgburn. I should check whether the ISO is complete. How do I look at the ISO I created in the BUILD step. I can check if the files or folders are missing at this step. Any ideas?
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. But... I do display hidden files. I also show the attributes column in the folder list. The folder is almost all .doc files. No hidden files there. Also, seven sub-folders are not hidden. They contain more .doc files. What shall I try next?
  6. I copied most of My Documents to a CD ON HARD DRIVE My Documents/Sub-Folder had 7 folders and 63 files for a total 70 objects ON CD My Documents/Sub-Folder had 3 folders and 32 files for a total 35 objects Any suggestions on what caused the difference? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot? Thanks

    I can't post

OK, I guess I should have written... "I can't post in the Imgburn Support forum (as opposed to other forums) I'll try again.

    I can't post

I type a new message in "imgburn support" . At the bottom I click "Post new topic" The next page says: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server. I have done this before. What is wrong or what have I forgotten? Thanks
  9. Even I wonder why I still use Win ME. Do you think my DELL Dimension XPST500 with 256MB can run XP? BOOT SUCCESS. I found rawread.exe and rawrite.exe on the net. I used rawread.exe to create RAWBOOT.IMG from my floppy I then used imgburn to create the boot image. Reboot and success. I have my DOS CD and access to C: You mentioned another file is needed. Can you explain in more detail. Thanks. Also, what inspired all of this was an article by Fred Langa about booting a DOS system on a CD. He said that I could have floppy emulation as A: plus files on the CD as device D: That is, write the CD with the floppy image RAWBOOT.IMG and add another directory say TEST. Additional programs go in this directory. Such as disktest, memory test, etc. Here is the reference to the article>>> http://www.informationweek.com/story/showA...icleID=10818064 Have you seen this done? Do you have any suggestions?
  10. Since I do not have Win NT (I have Win ME) can I make a raw image on my hard drive from my floppy using one of the utilities I see on the internet? Can I use the Raw image to create the ISO file?
  11. I am building a bootable image. I create the ISO image, then tried to write it to the CD. I get this error message: There is a problem with the El Torito configuration. Boot image: C:\bootcd.iso size 1,228,800 bytes Expected size: 1,474,560 bytes The boot image is the wrong size for the media type. I made a boot floppy for this laptop. I can boot from this floppy. Then I copied the files into a directory on the laptop. Then I used these files to build an ISO image. I appreciate all your knowledge and help. Thanks
