  2. I just updated the firmware to v3.10 (honestly didn't expect there to be a new version of it). Also, uninstalled and re-installed ImgBurn to be safe after that. Will post the log the next time it fails. It doesn't fail ALL the time, but often enough to get expensive
  3. I am using only branded Verbatim discs. It happens on all types - BD single/dual, DVD single/dual. SCSIStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition SK Interpretation: Hardware Error ASC/ASCQ Interpretation: Timeout on logical unit Settings are ImgBurn default. ASUS BW-16D1HT (firmware v3.03) Win10x64 I have previously chalked this issue up to cheaper discs, but now Verbatims are blowing out (and they ate NOT cheap)
  4. I've contacted the company about a possible bad batch. But I'm also wondering about these error that I saw in the log - W 01:19:05 Retrying (16 of 20)... W 01:19:50 Retry Failed - Reason: No Seek Complete W 01:19:50 Retrying (17 of 20)... W 01:20:03 Retry Failed - Reason: Timeout on Logical Unit W 01:20:03 Retrying (18 of 20)... W 01:20:20 Retry Failed - Reason: Timeout on Logical Unit W 01:20:20 Retrying (19 of 20)... Not sure why either of those would occur.
  5. The Asus was recently rated as the best, most durable drive, which is why I got it over another LG. And yes, I got the VAST majority of the failures with the LG - I thought the LG might be dying, that's why I got the Asus. The Ritek discs are the BD50s and I only had one of those blow out - the one that had the error at 99% I tested and it played fine - it was the 12 BD25s of OTCBDR-002-000 that I had the issue with. I'm wondering if it was just a bad batch of discs. I've never had a problem with either before (on the LG) - maybe 1 or 2 discs, but that's it.
  6. Here are several failed log entries - the first few have OPC enabled, the last one does not. I have not seen a difference in having it enabled vs not enabled. These logs are all using a brand new ASUS BW-16D1HT. My prior drive was an LG WH16NS40 - when I started b\getting the failures, I thought it might be that the drive was dying (had that happen before with DVD-RW drives, but the LG was my first BD-R drive). I have also tried BD-R Verify Not Required on and off, with no apparent difference. I've no idea how to switch Hardware Defect Management Active to Yes, or even what it does, or if it is necessary/advisable. You can see that I manually selected Retry several times (I've occasionally found success with that, but not in these cases). ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 - Log ; Sunday, 08 July 2018, 21:13:25 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 19:46:10 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! 8. Greettings all! I am using quality BD discs (Quantum Optical), and have never had an issue until recently. I though my burner was going bad, so I ordered a new one - but the errors continue (this is on VERIFY, not burn!) I/O Error! ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CBD: 28 00 01 64 E1 80 00 00 01 00 Interpretation Read(10) - Sector 23388544 Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 DA 00 00 00 00 11 50 00 00 00 00 Sk Interpretation: Medium Error ASC/ASCQ Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error It's getting ridiculous and wasting me a LOT of money. Please help! Could this be the SATA cable? I had a BD50 blow out at 99%!!! ===================================== I just checked the file that didn't verify and it played perfectly fine. WTH is going on???!!!! *I should add that the SATA cable is a Monoprice cable, so not a no-name brand. **I have also tried with OPC on and off - it doesn't seem to make a difference. Win10x64 current Insider build.
  9. Aww cr@p - was hoping that much could be squeezed on - sucks that BDs and DVDs won't overburn at all.
  10. A whopping 23,872 MiB size vs 23,866 MiB disc size - will this 6 MiB end up getting truncated, or is there ANY margin for overburning on a BD? Thanks!
  11. Greetings! I have a Samsung SH-224DB (SB01) drive and am attempting to burn 2,305,344 Sectors (4502MiB) to 2,298,496 Sectors (4489MiB) I get the following error - Failed to Reserve Track! - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB Is there a setting I can change to allow this or is this simply beyond any overburn amount? I would have expected to be able to overburn that slight amount. Thanks!
  12. Well, I set things back to default and it's working - guess I'll have to leave it as-is (I like to have the larger buffers).
  13. Yes, the buffer size *does* change with the slider. Additionally, this *only* happens when I try to burn files/folders directly, if they are from an ISO/MDS file, then they burn fine. There appears to be nothing related to my issue when [g]-ing "virtualalloc failed" - I am not a coder
  14. That is the exact error. Selecting Build>Burn (ISO/Joliet/UDF) - single layer It goes from - VirtualAlloc Failed! Reason: Not enough storage is available to process this command. Hit OK Failed to initialise FIFO Buffer (<amount of IO buffer selected>)
  15. Ok, this is really starting to p*** me off. I've had this working just fine, but had to re-install Win 7 x64. I have 32gb RAM and a 200gb pagefile - no matter what I set the IO Buffer to be (even as low as 128mb!) it is not working and I get the same error every time I try to burn. It is CLEARLY *NOT* and issue with insufficient memory - Physical Memory shows 33,493,780 with 21,584,285 available (per Process Explorer). I have even tried different Interface selections, but nothing changes. It is also being run under Admin. Please assist. ImgBurn is the only burner software that I am aware of that does Verify, so I don't want to have to switch to another. Thank you!
  16. Well clearly there is SOME option that allows the tray to be locked, but the drive to be "seen" - not like I'm making this stuff up for fun
  17. IMHO, there is a difference between locking the drive, and making the drive "invisible" and forcing a manual search. Once the burn is completed, that should automatically release the drive to the other instances - one should not have to manually search for the drive each time.
  18. What I'm saying, is that I WAS able to do that previously, with no problem. I *never* had to manually search for the drive - ever.
  19. Ok, I just re-installed Windows 7 and now I can't get multiple instances of ImgBurn ready to roll - well, I can have multiple instances OPEN, but none but the first will see the drive. I get - This drive is currently locked for exclusive access by 'ImgBurn v2.5.8.0 - PID: 13524'. Device->Initialise() Failed! Device: [0:2:0] DVD-RW (X:) (ATAPI) This drive will not be visible in the program. Now I previously did not have this problem - I could get several instances of ImgBurn ready to burn, just awaiting the switching of discs - now I have to manually Search for devices each time Thanks for any help!
  20. Ok, so I even tried both the Plextor and the LiteOn iHAS124W - BOTH blew out the discs, and this was after I uninstalled and re-installed ImgBurn and set everything to default. I tried running KProbe on the last fail and it basically stopped right after it started with only this info - Date : 1/25/2014 5:19:37 PM Model : 5-2-0-0 N:ATAPI iHAS124 W HL05 Disc : DVD+R DL , MBIPG101R10 [Moser Baer India Limited] Speed : Max ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1 Scanned range : 0 - 00:02:00 (0) Sampling count : 0 Errors : 1 PI Max : 0 PI Average : 0.0 PI Total : 0 PIF Max : 0 PIF Average : 0.0 PIF Total : 0 Here's the log info from this one - I 02:27:51 Destination Device: [5:0:0] ATAPI iHAS124 W HL05 (N:) (SATA) I 02:27:51 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MBIPG101-R10-65) I 02:27:51 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x I 02:27:51 Destination Media Sectors: 4,173,824 I 02:27:51 Destination Media L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,086,912 (Changeable: Yes) I 02:27:52 Write Mode: DVD I 02:27:52 Write Type: DAO I 02:27:52 Write Speed: 4x I 02:27:52 DVD+R DL Reserve Track: No I 02:27:52 Link Size: Auto I 02:27:52 Lock Volume: Yes I 02:27:52 Test Mode: No I 02:27:52 OPC: No I 02:27:52 BURN-Proof: Enabled I 02:27:52 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 5,540 KB/s (4x) I 02:27:52 Book Type Setting: DVD-ROM I 02:27:52 Advanced Settings - Force HT: N/A, Online HT: N/A, OverSpeed: N/A, SmartBurn: Yes I 02:27:52 CD/DVD Life Record Count: 5 - CD/DVD Record Count: 3 I 02:27:52 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,903,184 I 02:27:52 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original Disc I 02:27:57 Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Succeeded! 21. I don't know, never tried it. I guess I'll re-install it and give it a try.
  22. LOL - simple to *you*, because you're the EXPERT
  23. Ok, still kind of odd to me - it would seem it's just "ignoring" hardware errors if it's turned off ..... ? What's stranger is that, having it set to begin with, as I said, the drives seem to start having problems after a few months of use .....
  24. Ummm, sorry for being stone-dumb, but I'm still confused. If the options don't change how the burn is done, and with them on it generates errors, doesn't turning them off just not notify you of those errors? It would *still* be a bad burn, but you wouldn't know it. Not sure how that distinguishes ImgBurn from all the other burner software that *doesn't* have a Verify option. Thanks. And no, I'm not spending the exorbitant $$$ for the MKM discs (at an average of $1.00US/disc, I can blow out 5 of these and STILL be saving money!)
