  1. Theres no issue with the drive. Mine can't either, probably something to so with the new type of chipset it uses. Nowadays pretty much every standalone supports DVD+r so booktype doesn't really matter anymore unless your dvdplayer is 10 years+ old

Will SPTD interfere with a virtual PC's drives?

If the sptd filter is present on w7 then it can affect the virtual XP. As XP will access the drives through w7. So yes, you're fooling yourself. Use imgburns "load driver filter order" and get rid of it in the filter stack. It serves absolutely no purpose but slowing drives down. There's a reason imgburn warns about it in the log window.

    Changing book types

Afaik it doesn't at all. Doesn't it use the sale chipset as my bh16? That one doesn't set it either. Not even for a simple DVD+R (single layer) the booktype is set to DVD+R.

    Burn 3d Bluray content

There is no difference in burning a 2d and 3d movie. As far as imgburn is concerned it's all just data. The only catch toast 3d blurau is that it must be in an ISO form or you'll have likely ripped it wrong. Unless ofcourse its a converted file like an mkv

Find disc MID / backup settings

dude, ur a freakin genius. The second i swapped from SPTI to elbyCDIO. MID is now displayed on both drives so probably needed have swapped that drive out but hey it was getting old anyway that bh08 looks like it's microsoft fucking up. SPTI i believe is program default. Never changed that
  6. So here's the thing. I know i've got quality verbatim BD-R discs. My shop has never let me down. The thing is i can't seem to find the actual disc MID in IMGBurn. According to the changelog it should be easily visible. Well it aint for me. I insert a blank, go to explore mode and this is what i get. No MID present. Also. Say i want to install imgburn on another machine and i've configured it just to my liking on my main rig. How can i configure it exactly the same on the other rig without having to swap back & forth between both machines and (un)check where needed. Is there some file like "config.ini" or something where imgburn stores user settings that i can simply replace on the 2nd machine and presto? identical settings?

flashing 1.01 has no effect. I've included both imgb debug log & ODC log's with new firmware just in case bh16ns40-fw1.01.rar

i see one in the 0070 line, but you're the expert i'll post back later although the firmware only lists "disc readability improvements" but hey, can't hurt to use the latest fw

Find disc MID / backup settings

as requested file 1 is from the bh16, file 2 is from the bh10 i can only see 1 minor thing different and that's in the speed descripters file 1 lists 4-6-8-10-12, file 2 lists 2-4-6-8-10 but hold of on that for now. Although firmwarehq (through imgb) sais there is no new firmware available (drive was using 1.00-A2 i did find a newer one on the lg.com/nl. Version 1.01-A1 and just flashed it. Maybe that'll fix it. I'll let ya know later today. discinfo.rar discinfo2.rar

Putting the storage controller from idea mode into ahci bluescreens windows. And I'm not going to reinstall windows just for that. If i wanna know bd mid ill pop into safe mode i guess. Because downloading the latest storage drivers from Asus itself said my. System is incorrect lol

looks like ur right. In safemode both drives correctly report the MID as VERBAT-ime-00 Yet for some reason they don't in normal boot mode, even with anydvd completely inactive, and that's the only program i have installed that otherwise interacts with the drives, nero and that crap isn't even on my system bd-r--bh10ls30.log bd-r--bh16ns40.log

Find disc MID / backup settings

yup, that bd-re-xl log was with a verbatim bd-r inside the drive, a previous one was with a maxell bd-re sl, i do have a sony bd-re dl i can try but since all types of bd are affected, it might not be the drive itself or the media but something on the firmware level.

i'm guessing it's the blanks actually. Normal blanks start at the inner diameter these guys' recording layer doesn't start out to be another centimeter further out yet are still be able to hold 23.5gb

Can I change booktypw with a LG BH16NS40?

i was just about to ask the same question, but as always i use the search first. Found this exact topic. The LG commands result in that invalid field message, the LITE-ON commands for me give: current setting: unknown (FAILED!) reason: invalid command operation code so i'm probably out of luck?

Haven't tried safe mode no, about the controller no idea. Ain't that in the debug log. It does make me think if the speedpatch firmware isn't to blame. I still have the original fw, might flash that one to see if it makes any difference.

I'll live with it for now then. I did order a bh16 a while back. I'll install that one and see how that one behaves.

Find disc MID / backup settings

here's the only 1 i had time to test. No mid in explore window either, nor on my bh08 (logfile 2) Disktype: see link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disc-25GB-Single-Jewel-Speed/dp/B000IU3Z2C/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1377726902&sr=8-10&keywords=maxell+bd-re don't know if this is a dumb question or not but if it can read the descripters etc & toc, shouldn't it list the mid aswell or is that listed in a seperate part of the non-recordable prefab data? maxell-bdre-singlelayer.log maxell-bdre-singlelayer-2.log

Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format

If you are really using those, then they're prepacked and fake. That is an official verbatim packaging but verbatim does not use a ritek media code. Return that crap and ask for a refund. The official mid for that type is either mkm-003 or mcc-004

The problematic ones are bd-r, i do have a few bd-re's ill see if they work. It's the latest firmware on that and other drives, with 1 minor difference. Speedpatched with mcse. My bd-re's are from a few different brands, I'll see which ones do show the mid if any. I'll post back in the weekend. No time to test till then.

Don't think it is the drive because my bh08 doesn't display it either, but ill take your word for it. Is there anything you can do about it. The 2nd link i pmed you did show the mid, or am i just gonna have to live with it?

Find disc MID / backup settings

Indeed. I don't know if you had the chance to look at the logs. But the information window still does not give the mid. I saw myself in the log something about "invalid request" perhaps that ill have something to do with it. Can't remember it ever having worked from me
