Hi, sorry for lending the thread. But I have the same problem with my NEC 2500A 1.07 and my brand new Verbatim DVD-R disc's.
I get this error:

Failed to Reserve Track! - Cannot Format Medium - Unsupported Medium Write Speed
I've checked the media code for the discs on the webshop i ordered them from: media code: MCC03RG20/TYG03
I hope that someone can halp me with the problem.
