  1. Here is a very old thread describing the hoops and ladders involved in getting CD and song titles to display in various players, if anyone is interested: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/mastering-forum/173881-writing-cd-text.html
  2. Thanks Lightning, The CD-TEXT on both burns looks perfect. Like you, I have no idea why my car reads one correctly and pulls up other titles for this one. I guess I'll keep experimenting to see if I can find a way to get the album with the edited tracks to read correctly. Thanks again for your help!
  3. Hi Lightning UK! Thanks for your reply. I wondered about the CD player doing something like that, but I've never seen that before and I don't think my car has Internet access unless it's via BlueTooth through my phone.. in the past, I has always displayed either the correct titles or the usual "Unknown Artist, Unknown Album, Track1, Track2", etc. Very odd. Is there any way to get a more verbose log from ImgBurn showing what CD text was written, or to scan the CD directly to read the CD Text it contains? Are there any Settings that I may have amiss? I have CD-TEXT,- Use ANSI CodePage off, as well as Audio CD - Default to WAV file off Incidentally, this is the test that displays on the CDs burned from WAV files. Apparently it is a real album, so perhaps it is from a lookup, but that still suggests it's not reading the CD Text written by ImgBurn correctly: James Taylor The Pull Over Tour Sampler US Promo CD single (CD5 / 5") Tracklisting / Additional Info: 1. Song For You Far Away 2. (I've Got To) Stop Thinkin' 'Bout That - live at the Beacon Theatre 3. Caroline I See You The more I read on this topic, the more it appears to be a moving target without any solid standards. Apparently, getting your CD to display the artist, title and song titles on th majority of players around requires submittals to several on line databases as well as embracing several "standards" for encoding that information on the CD itself. Can you point me to anything that might help simplify this process? Thanks again for your support, and a great program. Marck
  4. Good day! I'm a new ImgBurn user and overall I'm very impressed with the program! I downloaded it several weeks ago and was finally able to burn a demo music CD for our band that showed the album, band and song titles after struggling to get iTunes or WMP to do it all afternoon. I put the CD in my car player and all titles showed up perfectly. The source files for that burn were WMA files. Now, I am trying to burn an updated copy with songs that are in a WAV format, and not having success with the titles, at least not on my car CD player. What was really odd was that it didn't show the usual "Unknown Artist, Unknown Album, Track1, Track2, etc... it pulled up the title of some James Taylor Album and three unrelated song titles. It played fine, but we need the band name, CD name and song titles to show on conventional CD players as this is for promotional purposes. WMP and Groove Music can't display the titles either, but Roni Music's Amazing Slow Downer can. Seeing that the WAV files were missing metadata such as Title, Album and Track # in Windows Explorer, I found a program that would let me add those (MP3Tag), but still no luck. Wondering if I'd made an error creating the new CUE file for the WAV burn, I compared them in Notepad and they are identical except for the file names and play lengths due to some editing I did in Amazing Slow Downer. Here is the WAV CUE file: TITLE "Prime Cuts Demo" PERFORMER "Unfinished Business" FILE "01 It Don't Come Easy.wav" WAVE REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 02:44:64 TRACK 01 AUDIO PREGAP 00:02:00 TITLE "It Don't Come Easy" PERFORMER "Unfinished Business" INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "02 To Love Somebody.wav" WAVE REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 03:53:20 TRACK 02 AUDIO PREGAP 00:02:00 TITLE "To Love Somebody" PERFORMER "Unfinished Business" INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "03 Peaceful Easy Feeling.wav" WAVE REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 04:38:40 TRACK 03 AUDIO PREGAP 00:02:00 TITLE "Peaceful Easy Feeling" PERFORMER "Unfinished Business" INDEX 01 00:00:00 After several more setting adjustments and test burns, I went back and burned another CD from the original WMA CUE file, and that worked perfectly once again. At that point, I wondered if there was something "different" about burning a CD from WAV files and started researching on line and in this forum. I found one post about a similar issue. but that person was content to get WMP to display them with an add-on you suggested, which won't help me. Here is an excerpt from the ImgBurn.log file showing both WAV and WMA test burns today. Both say CD Text was written: I 14:11:25 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! I need to use the WAV files as they include some edits to EQ and song length, but I can't use a CD those other wacky titles and I have no idea where they are coming from. Does anyone know what the problem might be or have any suggestions other than reconverting the WAV files to WMA and using the original CUE file? Also, BTW, I've not found a way to read in a CUE file so that I can edit it, add tracks, etc. I'm sure that must be supported, but it has eluded me so far. Thanks in advance for any help!!
