  1. Hello!  I had asked you previously about burning Blu-rays with my new pioneer drive and you had looked at the graphs and logs and said that even though the speed continuously cycled up and down from 0-8x, everything looked okay.  And, after kindly providing me with the CMD line suggestion of 'fc', I was able to confirm that everything seemed to be burning and playing properly.

However, today was the first time I tried to burn a DVD.  As what I have done in the past at LEAST hundreds of times, I burned a BDMV folder to DVD so that it could play in my OPPO player just like a Blu-ray, which it normally does just fine.  BUT... this time the device buffer just kind of sat at 5% for several minutes, so I just left it and went and did something else, checking back periodically to see if there was any progress.  Well, it very ODDLY seemed to be making some VERY slow, fitful progress, but then it got to about 50% and threw an error.  I tried this process twice with 2 different DVDs, good quality ones that I always use.  And, no go...

So, it's weird, unless something is strange about my new Pioneer burner that for some mysterious reason won't burn DVDs, it seems to burn Blu-rays and Data Blu-rays consistently fine.  I will include the graph and log files here.

    Thanks!

  2. WOW!  Now, that is a great suggestion!  :D  I was not aware that there was a CMD line option to do this.  I will definitely look into that.  I also have a new power supply ordered; I should get it tomorrow.  I have an instinctive feeling (likely WRONG!) that somehow it might be a 'Power' issue, IDK...  Thank you very much for taking the time to explain and to help!

    Ah, got it!  :D

    C:\Windows\system32>fc "C:\Freejack.1992.1080  SONY.mkv" "E:\Freejack.1992.1080
     SONY.mkv"
    Comparing files C:\Freejack.1992.1080  SONY.mkv and E:\FREEJACK.1992.1080  SONY.
    MKV
    FC: no differences encountered

I'm ASSUMING that that means the burn is okay, right?   Thanks!  That is a BIG help  :)   It takes roughly about 4 minutes + to compare the whole movie.  HOPEFULLY, that should solve any worries on my part then...

    Thank you again!!!

  4. Uh, not to appear TOO terribly ignorant, sorry, but I've never had need to do this before...  But, if I check the 'Verify' box and burn a Blu-ray like I normally do, and it goes through it's speed up / slow down shenanigans (BTW, after the 1.51 update it does stay at full speed for several seconds now before slowing down, as opposed to before when it upon reaching full speed it immediately slowed down)  and it then verifies the burn and HOPEFULLY shows that it is okay (I've never done it or seen it, so I don't know...) then, can I assume if the verify goes well that the burn IS indeed for SURE okay...?

    Thanks!

Okay, I just burned another disc with the 'verify' box checked.  Here are the log and graph date (just to be SURE that I did it right and that someone who KNOWS what they are doing can tell me that this disc did indeed burn okay  :) )

    Thanks!

  6. Thank you kindly!  I was thinking that among some other once in a while issues, perhaps the power supply needs to be replaced / upgraded.  I had added a few external HDDs, but they do have their own power.  The Hardware Monitor shows my PSU to be 11.8 for both Min / Max, so...  But, I will definitely update the firmware right away, appreciate that!  I'm going to include the graph for another burn that I did after that one; the playback on that disc is a bit wonky, BUT I am also having some trouble with my OPPO too.  I'll include the graph file here if I can.

  7. Sorry, I didn't see any way to 'reply' to my own topic.

Soooooo.... I get an answer 5 minutes after posting requesting that I include the log and graph data, which I did.

And now, the next day, nothing....???

Uh, it would be kind of nice to get an answer now that I immediately supplied the information of which I was asked, if possible please...

Both the log and graph files are on my last post of the same name (except the 'pt. 2' :) )

    Thank you!

  8. Hello!   I have been using IMG Burn forever and it has always been perfect.  However, something odd has started happening when I just got a new Blu-ray burner.  At first the burns seemed to go at full speed and do just fine.  Then, oddly, the burn speed would continuously cycle up and down evenly (go from '0' to full speed, then immediately begin to slow back to '0' and repeat until the burn is finished)   Since my new LG burner was doing that, I sent it back and got a Pioneer burner.  Like I mentioned, at first the first few burns seemed perfectly normal.  Now, strangely it is doing this speed fluctuation until finished.  Since both drives seemed to do the same thing, I switched the SATA cable from my other DVD drive which I don't use to the new drive, and again, the first few burns were fine, but now this constant fluctuation.

I'm kind of doubting that it is IMG Burn, but I have NO bloody idea what could be causing this out of the blue.  The burns SEEM to finish and play okay (I can't be sure unless I play the whole disc and files after burning)  but, obviously it takes at least twice as long with all the speeding up and down.

    Any ideas...?

    Thanks!

Oh yeah, I was just trying to do that .  Thanks kindly for the lightning fast reply!  :)

I think I need to drag the file from the Owner/Application Data, etc folder to here.  I will try that...

The playback SEEMS to look okay on my OPPO player scanning through the first few minutes of each MKV file.  I'm guessing that whatever is happening, IMG Burn is seemingly keeping it all together (I HOPE!)  Just a weird phenomenon...
