  1. Thank you for your response. Is there any merit to: "MKV can retain chapters, but not menus. Use Imgburn to prepare a DVD folder from your ISO. Then you will have everything intact." A quote from aother posting elsewhere. Thanks. Well as all ready answered you need some software that removes any copy protection measures - simple copy protection can be removed with the dvd decrypter (the predecessor of image burn), any dvd by Slysoft or dvd passkey by Fengtao soft (dvd Fab) - the moment you have the "unprotected" folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS saved on your hdd you do not need imgburn any longer - if you want to convert them to an mkv file you need some demux -> remux software .... there are tons of commercial stuff out there as well as some freebies .. the mkv container can hold -> one h264/MPG2/AVC/VT1 video_ts, mt2s a.s.o. encoded video track(s) several audio tracks, several subtitle tracks (not the ones that are actually on a dvd ...) from text-based subtitle files and the chapters (no idea how to manage that with the freebies) ... hope that helps cheers - ahab666
  2. hello, i ripped some of my brothers DVDs with anydvd hd by just copying the visible files from the dvd to my hdd - about some days ago i stated the build the iso/mds build session - just for using DVD Fab or BD Rebuilder to shrink them to BD25. only with some (2 out of 10) of that ripped files i am getting the "reset cpi flag" message and at each messages end a sync bad=0 .... so here is my question - what is the CPI flag and what's its significance for going further ... okay - b4 you me - i will upload that logs asap .... cheers - ahab666

  5. hi, thx for the fast response - even if it sounds like i want to mime the wise guy - it is statistically quite improbable that all 3 burners start to misbehave at the same time - well could be the sata controller(s) or the complete mobo but my educated hunch is of course the OS - even though it worked fine for more that a year now ... i'll inform you about the extra install .... cheers - ahab666

  7. hmm, ad 1 when i click the shutdown computer button my pc shuts down after the actual burn no matter if there are pending jobs in the queue ad 5 hold/unhold and move up and down jobs within the queue. and burn again should rather alter the burnt fla then put a new job in the queue ... ad 6 if i did some 16 burn jobs (on my copy machine with 4 burners) and the last 4 ones should finish unattended (like between 2 and 6 am) then it would be good to keep the burners closed before shutdown to avoid dust and stuff .... ad 7 3 brothers and 2 kids and some friends i am pooling dvds with, to be more exact we are storing each others backups.... and i have quite a large collection of originals as well - so it's only about 1:3 (originals:backups) plz believe that .... a pause queue after finish the actual job could come handy too .... sorry just ideas ... and btw - your proggie really rocks - a shame that the decrypter specific functions had to go !!! cheers - ahab666
  8. hi, as it is possible to trigger some options after finishing a single burn - why not doing the same with the queue like close img burn after queue is done shutdown PC after queue is done save queue (overwrite old most recent one) and shutdown if any job failes goto next one then save queue and shutdown for unstarted jobs in queue - possibility to pause them during the burning of predecessor job eject after burn per queue job. another suggestion : paralell burning like one image, 4 copies, 4 burners - one run (8 to 10 min) to burn, optionally one run to verify well no idea if similar postings exist - no hit searching for "queue options" and a gazillion hits with "queue" ... cheers - ahab666
