    Layer Change Problem - Newbie

Hi Again, lfcrule1972 Sorry, when I meant that the DL disc plays OK, it does until the layer change when the disc freezes in the player. Skip to the next chapter and it continues on. Does this with Verbatim DL discs too. Rgds Dumfy

    Layer Change Problem - Newbie

OK Guys, Still having layer change problems, I'm afraid. Again made an ISO file of the disc and this time burned it to Verbatim DVD +R Dual Disc. Both on PC and stand alone player, disc froze at layer change, but can skip to next chapter. Have pasted a copy of the burn log below. I did forget to change Book Type setting prior to burning image and of course couldn't do it once disc was finalised. It still played though. Any help would be appreciated. thnx Dumfy ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 - Log ; Thursday, 19 April 2007, 15:16:33 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 12:12:52 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! Layer Change Problem - Newbie

Hi Everyone, Many thanks indeed for the quick replies and all the help. In response to mmalves and Ifcrule1972's request, I've attached a copy of the 'Potential Layer Break Positions' dialog to this reply and also a copy of the Imgburn log at the end of this note. I didn't have the original ISO I'm afraid, but created a new one. Dunno if this will help though. The log file is the original. So may be the Traxdata discs could be the problem then. So does this mean I'm correct in thinking that an ISO image is a replica of the DVD and so being a 1:1 copy the layer change data is copied with it avoiding any fuss? More questions I'm afraid... I ripped using Ripit4me and the wizard option. In step #1 - ripping settings - I selected ISO instead of Full DVD. Is ISO the best method or should I have gone for Full DVD? I like keeping things simple if I can! Lastly, is there a way of previewing the layer on a PC after burning? And how do I find where the layer change is on a disc I wish to copy, so that I can go straight to that chapter when trying the copy on a stand-alone DVD player? Once again guys/gals, many thanks for the help. Appreciated indeed. 4. Hi Everyone, Just joined the forum, so first post for me. I'm a relative newcomer to all this and have worked my way through a lot, but am stuck with a layer change problem I think I have. I've successfully copied to single layer, but not dual layer. I'm using Traxdata DVD +R DL discs and the first part of the DVD plays fine, but a couple of DVD players I have go loopy at what I believe is the layer change, although I can't be certain. I've used RipIt4Me/DVD Decrypter to create an ISO of the disc I wish to copy and then used Imgburn to burn the ISO. To my mind, this should be an exact replica of the original so the layer change should be identical also. The disc I copied was bought for me as gift from a friend's visit to China/Beijing and is a DVD-9 and plays perfectly. I'm doing something wrong, but don't understand what. I've looked at the guides on this forum and people seem to do things a lot differently in that they don't appear to be creating ISOs. Hope you can help and many thanks in anticipation Best Regards Dumfy
