  1. I have just burned a dvd+r dl disk with an image with my new drive with success. "So what" I hear you cry. It was burned onto a "mirror" dvd+r dl disk which came in a pack of ten of which nine were coasters using my sony burner. Moral of the story seems to be if you begin to get unusual errors with drives and disks that were working ok previously, try another drive! [Pack of 25 Verbatim
  2. It's possible. CDs go in the tray shiny side up, don't they? Ohhhh, yeah right ....I didn't know you needed that kind of help, I was thinking of a basic guide on how to use the program not a whole tut on how to use a PC. I think he was joking
  3. I read your post and tried to burn CD iso, all went ok! ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 19 June 2007, 14:43:10 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 14:36:19 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! I 14:36:19 Initialising SPTI... I 14:36:19 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 14:36:19 Found 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD
  4. Try burning a CD. Can I ask why you said this?
  5. Bought a pioneer DVR-112D. No more errors
  6. Thanks for replies and help. I have visited the "drives and media section" but i'm now even more confused after reading reviews on most of the drives used in that section! I am after a reliable writer for approx
  7. Nobody likes sony then! Guess it is my writer that is causing me problems.
  8. Could you suggest a make and model to replace my existing model?
  9. When I first write an image to a Verbatim 2.4x dl disk I get no errors, everything OK. When I immediately try to write another image to a Verbatim 2.4x dl disk, I get the above error. I think it is down to the DVD writer as when I wait a couple of hours everything seems OK. Do you think this is normal or is my DVD writer on its way out?
  10. I burned the same image again but at 2.4 speed. No problems were reported. Finalized with no problems at all.
  11. No probs will do. (but not tonight) Thanks again
  12. Thanks for replying. (again) //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 - Log ; Friday, 25 May 2007, 23:17:45 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 22:10:03 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! 13. Tried burning a different image file, but I got exactly the same error. I did as you explained before in manually closing the disk and all is well. Any suggestions? I am burning at 1x speed.
  14. Thanks again. I only wanted one backup copy of this image, will wait for another to try. Problem only seems to happen to DL disks!
  15. Those are the original Verbatim DL discs to hit the market...they are up to MKM003 now AFAIK. Cheers, I have used SVP, but how do I ensure they are the above ? I like your avatar by the way!
