  1. Hello how's everyone doing? Been a while. I started backing up my dvd collection and everything' was fine until i decided t5o use my 2nd drive which is a Samsung as noted above. Why isn't it reading my brand new Verbatim DVD+R blank which in fact is a Ritek- F16-01. My Pioneer is just fine. I don't think it's because my Sammy is set as slave is it? Thanks. Btw no disc shows up in imgburn besides the RITEK. Even a normal DVD.

The Devil's always working you know! Yeah, I just had 2 experiences where initially I got duped also, on the 2nd try everything worked out! Even with VidCoder, I initially got 45-50fps using H.265 Nvenc. I then turned off hardware acceleration in MPC-HC, and closed DVDFab which was open. I loaded up about 12 .MP4 1080p files and set them up. When I hit encode it was hitting 1100fps and 45 minutes to DTA. The results fine! So the trick I think is that when some apps are using the same source they won't use it all unless it's by itself. Wonder what VSO is up to? Tbh, I have very good alternatives to both of their proggies, except ConvertxtoDVD is still a go to for obvious reasons. I bought a y/splitter for my PSU which added 4 more sata power cables, and I inserted my external drive into my mobo. Now I'm getting 900mbs transfer! Sometimes it bottlenecks to 58mbs. I don't know why.

Must of been a manufacturing glitch but you should let Verbatim know, even though they almost positively let the resellers know. No way they would gamble on a lawsuit, no matter how trivial.

it would be an accident if it said six times outside on the package or 16 x excuse me and then it turned out to be six times on the inside with the disc then that is not a mistake, especially twice now. Unless the discs are actually saying 16 times themselves and they're still writing to just six times or above then that's a whole other issue. So what exactly happening if I may ask? The wrapper or advertisement says 16x, and the discs 6x, or the discs say 16x and writing at 6x...? They know believe me, and they wouldn't take a chance purposely because there's middlemen involved.

According to the software and drive and firmware. On the DVD+R Verbs I'll get 24x as I showed you. Definitely with Power2Go. ImgBurn also but gradually creeping towards the end. VSO aka ConvertXtoDVD, or their CopytoDVD will usually stop at half of what it's capable. Must say it's a sure burn. So someone complained. Hit Verbatim see what they tell you. I'm curious. You're paying for 16x not 6x.

Wao! Why are they advertising them as 16 x and then when you open them up there only six times? It's not saying up to 16 times correct? Do a little research online and see what others are saying about this. It won't cost you anything and you'll see if this has been an issue previously which I'm almost certain that it probably has. I haven't done anything at Office Depot since the last time I bought a chair from them that was on sale, though they do have some things that are still wanted by us in the media world. You never really got 16 times on those anyway correct? The highest you went on the Pioneer was about 14 x correct?

Thanks a million! Of course it's possible! Though no way will the results be any good at the sizes that I'm seeing online. There's no way that a 25 or 50 GB is going to go down to that size using preset settings like the one you just said which ironically is the same one that I use fast 1080p 30. The only way for it to even go down to 1 GB etc etc is to manually put in the amount you want and manually set the bitrate excetera. It will definitely not look great like the ones they have online and so the guys online are fos! Some of those claim 400mb from Blu-ray! No way! People will do anything for an audience when they need one.

I keep forgetting that The human condition is totally corrupt for the most part! I've been looking at all those files by certain individuals online and there's no way that a Blu-ray 1080p is going to fit on 400mb, even 1 or 2GB! Especially without losing quality drastically! I don't know why I even fell into believing that, though just a minute ago I said to myself that must be pure BS! Well yesterday I did some serious multitasking and I burned a DVD while I was encoding, while I was online, and doing something else and everything came out just fine.

I have one that you can connect to your PC if you want one. They're fairly inexpensive. I'd just give it to you if you ever get a docking station or something with e-sata support. I'll look it up and see if it's still alive somehow. It's actually almost the same speed now even with USB 3.1 etc... You see that the USB still needs to convert the signal when it enters the PC. E-sata uses the sata interface so there's really no backlog. It's not dead. It's just not common. If you can get a hold of an E-sata enclosure you should go for it. The E-sata dongle is easy to put in. You just put it inside one of your ports which you should have at least one open.

Yes! And even more of an incentive to stick with LG. Are there any e-sata external drives out there left? I had a docking station with an e-sata port as well as usb.

I think what happened is that when you asked them if it supported writing 16 times they said yes, but they didn't say that it would write at 16 times, they just said that it would support it. Yeah a lot of these companies are funny like that believe it or not. I forgot somewhere else where somebody told me the same b*******.

Yes I think it can be used along containers as long as the software supports it. You mean that totally irrelevant to CD ripping you opened a pdf file and now Windows Media Player is corrupt? Their not the only game in town. Use that pwer2go. It rips CDs lovely to audio, Flac, Ape, and mp3. It also rips audio tracks out of videos. I ripped Thor Ragnarok's audio out as it was nice. CDex also is great and has that online service to fetch the info iykwim. I use any of those to then use Imgburn and create a .cue file. Very handy for suported playback on most devices. I do use WMP to fetch all my info and to rip to mp3.

So weigh it out. If a few bucks sending it back will fix it then fine. If not then stick with LG. Can one use that Apple lossless audio on a PC and with MKV? I presume yes since you have a PC? I'd go that route myself. Storage is not nearly the enigma it used to be. I'm getting stuck restarts and other stuff since that last Windows update. I'm going to boot eventually and see if any updates are available. They said they changed how we update Windows now.

Well as the saying goes,"All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed..." Some, even most, still think as an animal so go figure. Do you have any insight into the different audio formats? Thanks.

Hmmm, interesting being "Human" isn't it? Lol!!! I emailed a pastor not so long ago and told him that I don't think things were ever done as the Bible lays out. People were close to savages back then, and even now at our most civilized state look how things are in and outside the truth. Anyway, I'm going to study some things which some are video/audio related. I need feedback from you or anyone qualified on the use of the ARC HDMI port now available on hdtvs. I think it doesn't put out good audio, and that having it set to PCM is better. Thanks. You do a lot of burning so best to see what's quoted as lasting a tad longer than most.

Send it back if you can! LG has been vety reliable as of late. Pioneer used to be great as Plextor and that other one I can't think of now. You have to see who's into the more modern stuff across the board and then stick to that. My PC went dead for a bit! I gad to shut it down, open it up and vacuum it up! Then it turned on. I noticed with these new updates that it cyckes off the USB druves more frequent than before. I'm going to have to either buy some extensions for my sata power cabkes on my PSU, or get a new ine because I had trimmed of extra ones back in the day. This PSU is over ten years and still kucking! And they try to put Cooler Master down in the reviews! Just like Dell and that's my favorite! I'm doing my whole collection into HEVC MKV AC3 audio, 5.1 and up if possible. Man I have a lot of movies! I deleted many also. Al Pacino alone there's about 10-12 flics. Are you watching anything lately? That Yellowstone finally picked up! They shut that damn daughter up for a bit! Freaking annoying! Which means great acting. NOS4A2 also finished strong. Now I'm watching City on a Hill and Animal Kingdom. The mother is a nuisance here. Angie Dickinson plays the part. DVDFab is something else with their Lightning Shrink encoding and decoding! I converted an MP4 to HEVC MKV AC3 in under 3 minutes and clear picture. They don't support uft-8 subtitles though? Ask for a feature request.

That's pretty good especially for 25 gigabytes and 9 Minutes! Yes I agree with you. I seriously doubt that a full 25gb will do anything more than what you already demonstrated. Maybe with a different drive you'll be able to do it? I think vso is taking too long to take care of that convert x video app? The only thing they responded via email was about the beta update that you and I both already know about. And to be honest with you there are a couple of programs out there already established and vso is just coming to the party as of late.

    TSSTcorp CDDVD SH-S202J SB03 won't read disc

Cool! What's going on on the vso front if you have any additional info on that? I'm going to hit the applications now and see if it comes up with any updates. I have been using other stuff then vso recently. I know I bought both of them, and they're both good especially convert x to DVD but the convert to video jury is still out. Thanks.

Oh yes my bad. I realized the 25GB- limit just a little while ago. Hmmm just data. That's even better than film. You should definitely be reaching optimal levels then.

Reminding me of getting 24× with 16× DVD+R Verbatim on my LG Multiwrite. No one looks into these kind of things. So it's great insight on your behalf. Keep it up! See what can be done with certain drives and specific media.

That's great! And the Blu-ray blanks only come in - RE and no +RE correct? I'm pretty familiar with all the compression apps.. They're either using VidCoder or Handbrake, which VidCoder is based on. I think they're using final size as output and not CQ. Constant Quality will not ime give you a 1GB file from 25GB etc... Maybe. I just don't see how.

    TSSTcorp CDDVD SH-S202J SB03 won't read disc

Oh ok. I'm trying to choose some movie or tv series to purchase, so I can rip them full disc and have VidCoder encode them to mkv hevc 1080p AC3 5.1 or 7.1. I'm also interested in how they encode Blu-ray to 1,2, or less GB? How is a 25GB-50GB compressed to less than 2 or 3 GB? Is the movie less than the whole? There's no way compressing anything from that many GBs is going to look great. Thanks.

Hmmm! Is it a backed by Amazon order? What brand Ricoh? Sometimes the descriptors can be misleading. Hope somewhere it says at least writes up to 16x. Doubt you'll send them back, though Amazon will rectify any mishaps. Yes, I agree that it's usually the site's fault when a password is hacked. I let FF and Chrome and Edge save them as well as having a backup app.. I took advantage of Prime Day and purchased a Batman New Villain tshirt and another curious treat.

What the security so-called expert was talking about is that the way a password is stored as opposed to a pin is different and requires some kind of server related process to get it done. I didn't read too much into what the guy was talking about and I think I tried a pin one time and for some reason I like the password better myself. Too many of them though and so I have Google do all the honors with that. I have way too many things that need passwords and just about every damn place or site that you go into is going to ask you for one. Security is the biggest expense that almost every company has to deal with these days. Facebook as big as they are and as much money as he make and as much of a billionaire that he is pays a nod of money for the security on that site.
