  1. Seems to me it's the biggest issue, whether using ImgBurn or any other. Acronis True Image 10 offers to automatically split the backup images as they're created to allow for transferring (later) to DVD. Or you can manually specify split size. When I choose "automatically split", in one instance, & it split into 2 files sized 4550 & 4316 MB. I'm not sure why a mainstream prgm like it would do this, if basically no burning prgm (because of standards) will handle burning a file that large. Nero 7 will apparently burn UDF files > 4 / 4.2GB (seems to accept at least 4550 MB), though I've not completed burning & then trying to restore my HDD from them. Thanks. Are there drawbacks to using UDF for purposes I'm talking about?
  2. Thanks dontasciime, I believe ISO 9660 + UDF was used (by default?). Why the file size limit so far below the 4.7 GB capacity of DVD? Is ImgBurn able to span CDs / DVDs? If archiving HDD BUs to DVD, which would almost always be > 4.7GB or even 4.4GB, what settings would be best, i.e., ISO 9660 or ISO 9660 + UDF, or...? Re: Guides / user manual section in forum If the 9 or so mini tutorials are what are available, not much of a manual for such a powerful prgm w/ menu after menu of selectable options. I saw nothing in those guides, in the prgm or by searching the forum that discussed limiting / splitting large files to 4400 MB, as you mentioned. Where did you get that info? Thanks.
  3. Too Big? I split a True Image BU file. The largest is 4550 MB (TI split this specifically for DVDs). When tried to burn to DVD, ImgBurn said there's a size limit of something like 4200 MB for ISO 9660 files, I think (obviously < 4550 MB). Never run across this before, but never burned a file that big that wasn't being spanned across multiple disks. What's the deal w/ the ImgBurn message on file size? Also, does ImgBurn not have option to span CDs / DVDs? If archiving HDD BUs to DVD, what would you suggest as how to use ImgBurn, or is it suitable for this? Normally, w/ other burning prgms, I wouldn't bother splitting the files - just let them span disks. Oh yeah, is there no user manual for ImgBurn? Thanks.
