Have you tried at 4x? Where are your Verbatim blanks made? It's written in the packaging/box/spindle. You may want to try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.

There's also Windows 7 RC1 7100 available now :)

The error comes directly from the drive, so I really don't think it's related to Windows 7. I've been using it in both x32 and x64 flavours and it works fine :)

Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner and it should work. You may also want to try burning at 4x. If all of this doesn't work then you'll have to look for a new burner.

tried cleaning the drive by hand with a clean cloth for an additional fail...

Oh well new burner time can anyone reccomend a good cheap burner that works good with DL

do you think trying windows xp would be worth it...

I heard alot of people griping about some service called imapi that you can disable in windows xp that fixes stuff right up
