kode54 Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 I am experiencing a similar error to this topic, only I have a SATA recorder, and I've already checked that the cable is properly seated. I can also write off any error with the drive's laser, as I get this error about 20% into recording in test mode. (Oh, and the drive records fine from a Linux USB stick booted on the same machine.) It may or may not make a difference that the SATA interface is set to IDE compatibility mode, and I don't really want to switch over to AHCI to test that, since it would require a repair installation over Windows XP to get it booting again.
