Benq 1620 with B7V9_speedpatched

When I create an ISO DVD File and run Imburn 1.3, I set my Burn Speed at 12 and IMGBURN Burns it at 8 speed. I use Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R Media Silver Thermal Lacquer TYG02 8 Speed Media. I can take the same ISO File using Nero 6 at burn it at 12 speed and it burns it in about 6 minutes and when I review the results with Nero's CD-DVD Speed Disk Quality I get Better results with the 12 speed burns. I have tried IMGBURN with the default SPTI - Microsoft Interface and with Nero's ASPI- WNASPI32.DLL and get the same results. However If I Set Imgburn to Burn at Max It Will Make it up 16 speed at the end on DVD

and you can see the bad results more PIE Totals and the Jitter results start coming up at the end. So I Can't use MAX Speed in IMGBURN but I Would LIke To use 12 speed The Log file says it's set at 12 speed but still takes 8minutes to burn dvd and screen shows the highest at 8 speed. Is there something I over looking in Imgburn in the settings?

A log file out of ImgBurn would help a lot here, thanks.

I used MediaCodeSpeedEdit to edit my firmware and reflash my drive setting the max speed at 12 for Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R and went and burn another ISO with IMGBURN with th speed set at max and still it burned it at 8 speed.

It's like 12 speed doesn't exit at all with Imgburn using MediaCodeSpeedEdit to updated your flash firmware.

Interesting......................... :whistling:

If 12x doesn't work when maximum is 16x and MAX doesn't work when maximum is 12x, I would say the drive doesn't think 12x exists.

If nero is burning in 6 mins, I would guess it's burning at 16x.

I do not control the actual burn speed (during the burn I mean), I simply tell the drive a speed (at the very start) and it does the rest itself. Setting to 'MAX' should always burn at the max speed the drive thinks it can do.

There is a new firmware for that drive (B7W9) that might fix your problem.

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?cate...=4&manufactor=1

Yes I tried that one and went back to B7V9, cause I had better results.

Here's one at 12 speed thru nero, now I not saying all of them are that good.

I do like the way Dvd Shrink Ties in with Imgburn, When I burn a dvd folder with nero it only allows 16 characters in the title where as Imgburn does what the standard says, 32 characters.

All I can Say LIGHTNING UK! is you got one hell of a good program. I like it.

I'm not sure it IS burning at 12x.

Have you done the reg hack to get Nero saying the real speed it's burning at?

I've got a 1620 here and some tyg02 so if you can give me some more proof that another program can burn at 12x (and I really do mean 12x, not 16x but saying 12x!) then I will spend some time looking into it.

Otherwise, I continue to spend my time creating 'ImgBuilder' ;)

That's the ISO building chunk of code that I'll be slotting into ImgBurn when it works properly!

Didn't know about the reg hack for nero, I'll look into. I learned something new today.

Continue on creating 'ImgBuilder'

Thanks

Tried The "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001 reg hack and your right if you set nero to burn at 12 speed it's writing at 8 speed, If you set Nero to burn at 8 speed it's writing at 8 speed.

So your right.

Will the new ISO building be able to get the dvd files from the hard drive? That will be cool
