firemedic89 Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Hi all, Ive been using IMGBurn on windows machines for a while and recently decided to shift my machines to Ubuntu. I was given a dead Macbook, dropped in a new drive and have an image of OSX 10.5... but its in .cdr format. It will fit on a single layer DVD as it was liposuctioned of unneeded files. I am told that the image burns fine on a windows machine, but I'm determined to stick with Linux (but I see why it would be easier to stick with windows). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks to these great forums, I configured wine and IMGBurn to find the drive, notice the blank media and start the burn. LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Ritek discs are rubbish in general. Slimline drives are rubbish in general. Matshita drives have non existent support in terms of firmware updates. Buy some decent discs - Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden and try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.
