Failed to get disc capacity

Hi, I have just downloaded & installed ImgBurn, and am attempting to create an ISO image from a DVD. After setting the destination file & folder, I click the "Read" button, and get a popup that says

Failed to get disc capacity

No errors are reflected in the log (below), am I missing something simple? I searched the forums for this error message, and read the various FAQs etc.

Thanks

Put the disc in the drive, switch to Read mode and copy + paste all the disc info from the box on the right.

Here is the info, meanwhile I have tried the 2 other disks in the group, one was successful as an ISO, the other would only copy as a BIN (telling me what this means, you are not).

That drive appears to be having trouble returning the info about the disc.

With a known 'non working' disc in your hand (the drive needs to be empty), load the program and switch to read mode.

Now press the F8 key.

Now insert the non working disc.

When it comes up with 'Ready' in the statusbar at the bottom of the main window, press F8 again.

Save the contents of the log window to a file (via 'File' -> 'Save As' in the menubar at the top) and attach it in a reply.

Ok so here's the problem:

I 17:25:16 CDB Interpretation: Read Capacity

E 17:25:16 SENSE: 70 00 02 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 30 00 00 00 00 00

E 17:25:16 SENSE Interpretation: Incompatible Medium Installed

Your drive is just erroring out with the error code for 'Incompatible Medium Installed' every time.

Either there's something wrong with the discs you're putting in the drive or there's something wrong with the drive itself.

Try giving the drive a clean with a cleaning disc.

If the discs are dirty/scratched then you know they might be to blame.
