Hi, firstly, I am not computer savvy so I apologise in advance if things don't sound right. I have tried to burn disks and they get through the process but when it comes to finalising the disk, I get an error. It reads: Unknown(Internal Target Failure)(ASC:0x44, ASCQ:0xD6). Can anyone help me solve this problem? All help is appreciated.

Thanks for showning me. It was turned off for some reason. My computer has the odd "visual memory is low" pop up every couple of days. It that is any help. Not sure what it means as when I click on it, it disappears. Could this be adding to the problem?

Says it was completed as options were: Cancel, Try again and Continue.

When hitting continue, it says complete but has not finalised and cannot view disk.

You mean Virtual memory I guess. It's because your system doesn't have enough RAM to cope with whatever you're trying to do with it and your pagefile settings aren't sufficient to take up the slack.

 

Your drive is getting on a bit now and you're using discs with a cheapo dye/MID (CMC MAG-M01-00).

Why have you change the write type? put it back on DAO/SAO.

 

8x isn't an option for your drive/firmware/media combo.

You could try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc, that may help.

As for changing Settings i've never touched them but did change as you recommended. I have used a variety of disk from the good to cheap and in the past have found it didn't make much difference. I am currently out of Vert's so that will be on the shopping list. I will stick to them. As for an old computer, I am hoping to upgrade soon. It is soooooo slow when the kids are on laptops and takes ages for pages to load. I 'spose mine is ancient in technology terms. Ha Ha. Although new burn didn't work, I will take on board all your recommendations and thank you very much for your time in helping me out tonight. Enjoy your weekend.
