AlecC Posted June 14, 2011 Share Posted June 14, 2011 I have an m2ts file that I want to burn to a blu-ray disc and play on my player. I've used tsmuxer to create the required folders and then used imgburn, selecting the two top-level folders to add to the disc. When I try the disc in the player I get an error saying that the structure is incompatible. I've tried this a couple of times with different m2ts files. Is there anything obvious I'm doing wrong? I have used ImgBurn to write BDMV/CERT folders to BD-R, DVD-R RW, DVD+R, and even CD-R and they all play on my various Blu-ray players. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't know whether this is a) some problem with the m2ts file though it plays in isolation on my PC some problem with the format created by tsmuxer or c) some problem with the settings in imgburn. I've compared the disc with a different blu-ray that plays perfectly and the file system looks identical - nothing added, nothing taken away. LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 14, 2011 Share Posted June 14, 2011 You're way behind on your version of ImgBurn. Old ones aren't supported. Likewise, Vista SP2 has been out for ages now. If a disc burns and verifies ok (your log didn't show the verify phase so I guess you disabled it), ImgBurn's job is done. Playback issues typically come from bad source files (wrong format etc) or unreadable (cheapo) media. Do you have any proper BD supporting playback software on your PC? PowerDVD 10 / 11 'Ultra' etc? There isn't any problem playing any of the m2ts files on the PC and I'm familiar with demuxing, stripping out the audio core etc. Although a lot of people have had problems with Vista, I came to it after SP1 was released and haven't had any problems with it. I wasn't aware there was a compatibility issue with either tsmuxer or imgburn. I will update to the latest version of imgburn and post back as to whether it makes any difference. You need to play the content as a proper BD Video disc so the 'index.bdmv' file is parsed etc. My mention of the Vista update was not for compatibility reasons, but for security (and general bug fixing/feature improvement) reasons Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanks to all for your help with this. I used to upgrade to the latest version but got a bit fed up doing it when a new version was released every week or so.
