Well mate, don't give up just yet. Other forum members will undoubtly read this thread and might be able to shed more light on the subject then I. :(:/ Kinda think it might be the burner on its way out of this world, best to wait for other members to see this and reply though. :)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :(

If it's not the discs its the drive / firmware.

If the discs are ok and you can't update the firmware, give up and buy a new drive!

I must say I'm a bit stumped, I'm also surprised that these disks/drive are supporting 2X speed, all of your logs show that you're failing toward the outside edge of the disks.

All I can suggest is to try different disks.

BTW, what is that drive you got? I went hunting for firmware update for it, and I couldn't even find it.

Edit: I found it, seems like it's very new in the market.

Just as an outside chance, try some +R media.

There is no difference if I burn with this new burner in 2x 4x or max..

yes the disk is very new I thougt it would be better to have a very new drive =)

Okey I'm going to buyin some new media and just throw away the other one away..

I'm thinking about Taiyo Yuden that you guys have been recomended before even tough this discs are the most expensive.. :P

Whats the difference between -r and -r anyway?

what discs do you recomend?

Taiyo Yuden have been king of the heap for years and they still are........ if you can find them. Verbatim -R are also very good. (But not -R/DL. You'll want +R/DL instead)

Whats the difference between -r and -r anyway?

Ironically, nothing. :P

If you mean -R and +R, not much really. Not these days anyway. -R has better compatibilty with older players and a slightly higher capacity. +R allows you to set the position of the layer break with DL media and -R doesn't.

This may have been covered elsewhere but is your burner internal or external? If it's internal, are you running it on standard IDE ports or a RAID card or similar?

Check your IDE cables.

As for + vs -, never use -R DL media. They just don't work right.

Thank you all for your mediatips.. I'll buy som taiyo yuden discs when I have time they cost around 50 euro for a 100 here..

Both my dvd burners are internal and are connected to the regular ide cables directly to the mainboard.

is there anything else I should try?

Not that I can think of, just try some +R format media (in the good stuff) I found that +R format are 'easier' to burn than the -R format.

It could be, anything is possible, but looking at the logs, I'd say unlikely.

I bought some new ide cables and switched all my hdd's to ide-raid card adapters so the dvd has its own cable and so does the master hdd.

And what happens.. yeah it all works.. except there are buffer problems now :S

I know this is old, but if anyone has had this issue, the reason was because what ever dvd image/files you are trying to burn are not right. or the Image/files are a bit too big for the DVD and you are skipping the warnings and burning anyway. to double check use DVDshrink to re encode the DVD fast into an image file and try burning the image it makes. hope it helps for anyone having this issue.

If the user tries to over burn it shows up as a warning in the logs, so I doubt that one is the one to blame.

It's nothing to do with overburning.

Command sequence errors are from where the program tries to send a series of commands to the drive and the drive complains because it's not expecting one (or more of them) when it's in the state it is at the time.... normally this is after a failed burn or something - and probably happens more with olders drives (buggy/less forgiving firmware).
