Formatting discs

So it's exactly the same as mine then - perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

 

You only have to format BD-RE discs once, after that you can just keep overwriting them. A quick erase is pointless so don't bother with those on BD-RE unless you're trying to hide (badly!) what was on them - all it does is write zeroes to the first few hundred sectors.

 

You can tell the program to skip the certification and zeroing sectors bits if you want it to format instantly, but then you don't know if the disc is actually 100% ok or not.

Right now, I'm dealing with BD-R and BD-RE discs. I always needed to do a full format on the RE discs before burning, otherwise I remember it wouldn't go. Do I need a full format on a BD-R disc?

How about other media as DVD-R/RE...
