Software to change the data fields in an MP3

Recommended Posts

When you rip a CD to an MP3 with something like say Windows Media Player, the software populates the fields of Artist, Title, etc.  If you have a CD with no available track information, you get things like Track 01 for a Title.  So, I was wondering if there was software available to load an MP3 so you can edit these fields.  Freeware, of course.  :D  Thanks!

Thanks!

Looks like I could also load the MP3 in 4Dots I have installed and edit the fields in that before converting them back to an MP3.

You can even use Winamp with Alt+3 to edit the tag why convert them back?

Because I didn't know WinAmp could do that.

That's available in the free version, right?

Apparently, ALT+3 doesn't work with .WAV.  Some fool entered the wrong data on whatever Windows Media Player uses and now most of the tracks have the wrong information.  I can change the file names, but it doesn't change the internal information that pops up in WinAmp when I play these lossless WAV files.

EDIT: Discovered Shift+E.  :D

EDIT: Shift+E doesn't work!  It changes the data field but does not actually update the file.  The changes disappear upon exit.
