shasta_man Posted July 25, 2015 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Using the latest version of Imgburn. I am running Windows 7 with latest service pack. I am trying to backup image files to BD-R disks. I'm just trying to burn a set of images to a BD-R disk. My goal is to backup a set of files onto BD-R discs that I could read in a Windows based system at any time in the future. My problem is that every disk burns and verifies successfully but when I try to read them with the same Windows 7 system, the only thing I see on the disk is a Desktop.ini file. I was able to make a ISO9660 + UDF formatted disk where I could see the files but all of the filenames had been converted to 8 characters. I'm trying to create backup disks readable in Windows 7 where the long filenames are intact. I thought the problem was in the filesystem choice. I have tried using UDF 1.02, 2.01, and 2.5 but they all result in a disk where I can only see Desktop.ini. What am I missing here? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When I burn as ISO9660 + UDF 1.02 disk, I see the files but with 8 character names. When I burn as UDF(only) 1.02, 2.01 or 2.5 disk, I can't see any files on it in Windows 7 but you can't burn any files to it It always burns and verifies successfully. LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 25, 2015 Share Posted July 25, 2015 That shouldn't be necessary, I'm sure the discs that showed as having no files on them are actually fine.
