If I had to make a guess based on your log, I'd blame the cheap CMC media.

I 09:45:03 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: CMC MAG-D03-64)

CMC MAG is CMC Magnetics, the worst manufacturer of optical disc media out there.  If you're going to use DVD+R DL, the only real choice is to go with Verbatim MKM discs.  However, you generally can't find them in a brick and mortar store.  Even Verbatim from a BAM store will be their cheap brand, which is, yes, you guessed, made by CMC.  You pretty much can only find them online if you look for the Verbatim DataLife Plus brand of DVD+R DL.

A vast majority of people who report problems burning DVD+R DL find if they switch from something other than Verbatim MKM media to Verbatim MKM media, their burning problems go away.

it's odd though. this is the second time i've used this brand, and the first went over flawlessly.

That's the nature of the beast with CMC.  50% of the time, a burn won't complete.  If it does complete, 50% of the time, the burn won't complete Verify.  If Verify completes, you have a 50% chance of the disc you insert into a DVD player not being readable by the player.  And you can get some discs that work in a spindle and some you don't.  When I learned of the nature of CMC, I had a 200 cakestack of Optodisc DVD-R in 2003.  Optodisc used to make their own discs which were good and then they switched to CMC.  When they switched, half of those 200 wouldn't complete a write in my Panasonic DVD recorder.  The recorder returned a U11 error.

And, some burners don't even have a problem with CMC.  The problem with CMC is their level of consistency with their quality.  I'd trust a CMC disc about as far as I can throw their corporate headquarters.

This is going to be hell for physical media. My predictions are that CMC is going to rule DL discs in the very near future. I bought a 10 pack of these discs and only need one of them to work. Should I just keep trying?

The market is already doing that for BD-RE.  Verbatim used to make their own quality BD-RE.  Then they went cheap :horse: and now only release CMC BD-RE.  So, I don't buy them.  Unfortunately, everyone else but Maxell and Panasonic make BD-RE that are CMC.  Maxell, though, are not an option because although they're rated for 2x, they only write at 0.9x!   Panasonic may not be an option (I haven't tried them yet.) because Panasonic MADE the Maxell BD-RE's!   TDK and JVC/Victor BD-RE's were CMC's.

And with Taiyo Yuden exiting the optical disc market, there's now only 1 option, Verbatim DataLife Plus media, for quality CD-R and DVD+/-R.

As for what you can do with that 10 pack, you can just keep trying to burn each one.  Otherwise, your options are to throw them away or get a new burner and see if it's your burner.  However, trying Verbatim MKM would probably be cheaper than replacing your drive to see if the problem goes away.  If you replaced the drive and the problem is still there, then you've spent more money on replacing the drive when the issue might still be the media, which would be cheaper to replace.  Or the problem might be beyond the media and the drive.
