keiron99 Posted October 6, 2015 Share Posted October 6, 2015 I've been using imgburn successfully for ages. Recently, I have been converting all my blu ray rips (in file format) to ISOs. The blu ray files are stored on my NAS. It's been working fine. Then all of a sudden, I started getting error messages, usually "the specified network name is no longer available", which would suggest a connection problem with the NAS, but I know there isn't. Clicking retry just fails. I have restored my PC, done everything I can think of, but with no joy. Here's the log from my latest failed attempt. LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 6, 2015 Share Posted October 6, 2015 For whatever reason, the link to your nas (at least on the Y: drive) has an issue. It's the OS API call (that writes data to a file) that's failing with that error, I just report the failure. What happens if you do it via a UNC path? I'm not that savvy, which is why I've always enjoyed the simplicity of imgburn. So could it be a faulty network cable or something? Seems odd because I'm not getting errors anywhere else, such as streaming from my NAS to my PC or the many TVs in the house. Also, I've been using other image creating software and they aren't having problems (apart from the fact they create images I can't play...!) LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 7, 2015 Share Posted October 7, 2015 You're mapping a share on your nas as a drive letter (y:), the path you're mapping it to can be put straight into ImgBurn. So it might be '\\nas\media\image.iso'. I don't really know why the OS would think it has disappeared. You could run process monitor alongside ImgBurn to capture what it's doing with the file and maybe see more info around when it errors out. If clicking retry just returns the same error, can you then check the state of y: in explorer and see if it's accessible? If it is, click retry again. You could also continuously ping the nas to check it doesn't vanish when the file on it is being written to. Where are the source files coming from? Are they also on the nas? keiron99 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Share Posted October 8, 2015 The sources are from the NAS. They are blu ray rips I made using AnyDVD HD. So what I have done as a test is transferred one from my NAS to a hard drive within my pc. I created the image - no errors this time - then copied it back to the NAS. All appeared to go well, but the ISO will not play in my streamer. I tried with another just to test it wasn't that file, with the same result.
