Booktype is different than selected on Last Recorded.

Hello. I am having problems with burning on Verbatim 8.5 GB DVD+R DL with booktype DVD-ROM. First of all sorry if I write something wrong or misspell. I don't have much knowledge about these things.

I am trying to make a copy of my disc which needs to be DVD-ROM as I read from tutorials. My Device Manager says my DVD RAM manufacturer is unknown but I guess it is LG, although it is not very common in google. It is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUA0N. So I have insterted the empty DVD, went to booktype settings. Found LG, then selected Drive for DVD +  R DL media. The combobox below got activated. However, the Current Setting already says it is DVD-ROM. So when I select DVD-ROM from the combobox below, it gives me an error. You can check the images. I took screenshots of what I have done and attached here.

So because it said the current setting is already DVD-ROM, and gave me an error when I tried to change, I burned the image thinking it is set to DVD-ROM already. And then I started ImgBurn as Verify and checked the Last Recorded. It is still DVD+R DL. I tried the DVD in my car just to see if I copied it right, it said the DVD map can not be read.

I tried burning a DVD-R with Nero too. I am not sure if I did it correctly though because it is pretty complicated, but the DVD-R disc that I burned with booktype DVD-ROM, turned up to be DVD-R again in the Last Recorded part and also Nero Disc Info. So the booktype did not change I guess.

Or maybe Last Recorded is something else than I think it is?

Can you please inform me about this? Is something wrong with my laptop's DVD RAM or ROM or I don't even know how it is called. Should I stop wasting DVD's and use a friend's laptop to burn it? I could not find any information about my HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUA0N.

I would really appreciate your help.
