Have you tried turning your machine totally off and on again? As in... power it down.

It's normal when i click to burn, say Getting Disc ID for a while? first time using the program

If your drive is having trouble returning it or it's having to spin up and read the disc, yes.

Of course it also depends on what you mean by 'a while'. Normally it would only take a couple of seconds for ImgBurn to ask the drive lots of questions about the media and display it in the disc info panel on the right.
