Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm having problem while I'm burning with my LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE  BH16NS40 1.03 (ATA) and Verbatim DataLife Blu-ray Disc BD-R LTH.

I'm burning these BD-R from years. Last 50 pcs I bought give me problems:

###

I'm usually burning at 4x speed. If I try to burn at 2x Imgburn says me that the speed is not supported with these disc. If I try to burn at 6x (maximum speed declared for this BD-R) Imgbrun says me  "Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Power Calibration Area Error".

Thanks for your help.

Your first problem is 'outsourced' ''fake'' verbatim's CMCMAG-BA5-000

Your 2nd problem is that you're using LTH type discs. That technology only lasted a short while in production but wax quickly abandoned by most blank/drive manufacturers and hasn't been produced for years now.

Get the good ones 'datalife plus' you can only find online, and NOT the LTH ones

I'd second these recommendations.  CMC media just causes all kinds of problems.  And LTH (Low To High) media was more trouble than the price saved in cost.  Even if you got a successful LTH burn, you'd probably be hard pressed to find a Blu-Ray player that would play the disc.  You want the HTL (High To Low) BD.

Thanks for your reply.

Verbatim replied to me:

- The disks are original (no fake);

- The disks I bought are mod. 43838 (CMCMAG-BA5-000): Verbatim Italy says these items are HTL.

I’m very confused :(

They're BRANDED verbatim but made by CMC magnetics. The MID doesn't like. Verbatim outsources some of it's production to CMC (and now even more, considering they bought the brand).

They are verbatim yes but they're the cheap quality (life series) kind. You need the 'datalife plus' ones usually only available online.

You're just new to this, us experienced users know what to look for.
