Compatibility problem with the build function

I've created many DVD-Video with the build function of ImgBurn 2.1.0.0, they play fine with computer and with Philips stand alone player, but the United stand alone player refuse to play them: when I insert the dvd, the player eject the disc without playing and with no messages. I've made several tests with the same media (a DVD+RW), and I've found that only Nero make working DVDs with all players, but I don't know why.

The problem is with building DVD-Video with ImgBurn, because if I build a DVD-Video ISO with Nero and then burn it with ImgBurn, it play fine with the United player, but if I build an ISO with ImgBurn and then burn it with Nero, it fail playing.

I've used the default settings of ImgBurn, then I've tried changing them, but no luck.

I have a Plextor PX-708A burner, and the Book Type for DVD+R is set to DVD-ROM, but as I said before, the problem is not with the burning engine, but with the build process.

Anyone have found the same problem? Solutions?

I'm using always the same media (Philips DVD+RW) for the tests, and the bitsetting for DVD+R (no specific option for DVD+RW) is already DVD-ROM. I don't think the problem is the media, i think it's something about the building of the image, because if I use Nero for building(just building, not burning) the dvd+rw play with no problem, then if I erase and burn the dvd+rw(same dvd+rw used with Nero image) rebuilding again the dvd-video with ImgBurn, there are problems with the United player.

There is 1 little bug in the build code but it only affects discs with lots of files in a folder - and only certain players probably care about it.

If you're just building a DVD Video with a couple of VTS's, you wouldn't run into it - in which case, it's hard to say what the problem is.

The bug has of course been fixed for the next version.

Try disabling ifo/bup 32 padding. Because that is all i can think of that nero does not do. :)

and maybe your played does not like ifo/bup padding. ;)

Already tried, same problem. :(

I have just one VTS.

There are some options in the build section that I don't know the meaning, like these:

- "Volume Label - Read DVD Text Data"

- "File System Padding"

- "Ignore 'In Use' Files"

What they mean?

I don't know how to analyze a DVD-Video image, so it's difficult for me to find the difference between the Nero and the ImgBurn image; there are programs that can report the structure of a dvd image?

Thanks LIGHTNING UK for the wonderful program, I don't want to switch back to Nero, so I'm trying to do all what I can for resolving this problem. :)

I'm wondering whether you've built the image without placing the DVD files inside a VIDEO_TS directory. ImgBurn will prompt you about this if you do so, but you may have answered 'No' which would result in all your IFO, VOB, BUP files being in the root directory. To check, simply put your ImgBurnt disc in and check through windows explorer.

Everything is in the VIDEO_TS folder of course.. ^_^

put a disc in the burner and copy and paste the info from the window, lets see who the dye manufacturer is for those discs and if possible try some different media, having multiple players makes the compatibility problem more complicated, some players are just picky
