My backup dvd only plays menu's

1. this is actually the second dvd i ever tried burning. this log shows what happened and in the end when i tried playing it, it only works within the menus and doesnt play the video or scene selections. just shows u the previews.

2 . And this one is from the first dvd burning of mine. doesnt play at all and it was really fast writing, maybe 3 minutes or less

way too fast for a 3 hour movie this is that log.

king kong is way too small to be a dvd, so you must have authored incorrectly.

both discs used are pretty bad quality unfortunately, try verbatim or taiyo yuden and check your iso's before burning them by mounting the iso in deamon tools and check it using media player CLASSIC or power dvd

what exactly does the authoring deal with, does it mean that i messed up when ripping, or the blank dvd is crap? also am i missing any steps in ripping or burning my dvd?

Well in the case of King Kong it looks to me like you have missed out the movie when you ripped it. Hence the v.quick burn time, we can't help you with ripping on this forum as by its nature it bypasses Copyright protection and would get the author of the program into trouble.

 

Therefore you will need to use Google to maybe find another forum that can help.

 

If the last burn you posted works ok then you obviously need to look at the process you used for King Kong :)
