This is almost the same issue that others have published but still though I have tried almost everything It´s still a problem.

On my computer I have a disc drive NEC-6500 and a virtual disc.

I´ve bought new discs with the difference from other discs that I´ve succeeded to burn that the new ones is DvD-R x16 and the old ones x8.

I´ve rebooted XP and flashed my DVD but nothing seems to take care of my problem. What to do ?

I´ve also updated ASPI - same problem.

Your drive doesn't support those discs.

See if you can find any firmware updates for it - that could fix it.

Failing that, buy some better media. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

Ok - I assumed that that´s the problem thanks for verifying, but - do u have any suggestion for new firmware ?

I´ve flashed with:NECND65_V203D

from: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/NEC-ND-6500A/

But - as I´ve written this didn´t work -

use the "check for firmware updates" feature within ImgBurn

In rwrte Mode, hit TOOLS > DRIVE > check for firmware updates

there is a couple of options, but let ImgBurn sort them out for you.

I "think" you will be able to go up to 203E which i also think is for Dell machines
