ImgBurn I/O error

IZON

Recommended Posts

Recently I started to get I/O errors when I'm verifying the discs.

My I/o error is:

ScsiStatus: 0x02

interpretation: check condition

CDB: 28 00 00 22 34 C0 00 00 01 00

Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 2241728

Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 22 34 C0 0E 00 00 00 00 11 05 00 00 00 00 76 14 00 00

Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error

Why does this show up and what could I do to solve this?

IZON, This looks like an error due to bad media. It may burn alright but when verifying IMGburn can't read back from this certain sector. What type of media are you burning to? Could you post a log for us. The burn't media may still play alright in a stand alone dvd player because the drive in your computer is more sensitive then stand alones. :/ Might be an idea to start using better media if this is the prob, post a log please.

Yes I've found out that my firmware was old just before I read your message.

I shall install it now and see if I gopt any further problems.

Could you find out some information on my dvd discs?

Are they bad?

You can crossflash the Asus drive you have to a Pioneer 110

See this post

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=...ASUS+DRW-1608P2

I'd recommend like the post says flashing to either the stock

Buffalo A10XL 8.37 f/w or TDB patched 8.37 f/w (Youll need DVRFlash2.2)

I have quite a few A10XL's with TDB 8.37 f/w and while I haven't burnt any MCC02RG20 disks as i dont use em, I do burn the MCC03RG20's (16speed disks instead of 8speed) which are excellent quality and give excellent results.

Btw are there only dumb do burn in 1x or something like that (low speed) instead of using the MAX speed?

wich speed should I burn in?

It really depends on your media/drive and f/w

I burn TYG02s at 4 speed generally as i get the best results form my particular set up

I burn MCC03RG20 at 8 speed generally as i get the best results form my particular set up

They will both burn at MAX (12X & 16X) but after many trials i have found the quality scans are not as good.

At the end of the day its just personal choice
