bambaibabu Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Hello, ImgBurn is having trouble verifying the disc after it writes and it happens consistently when it attempts to verify the second layer (Sector 1455248). I tried the following (only in vain): 1. Upgraded the firmware of my TSSTCorp T-L632D drive from HH15 to HH17. That made it worse - it could not even complete the writes. Rolled it back. 2. Tried different media: Memorex and Verbatim (Singapore made). No luck! Any suggestions? What does the displayed error "Timeout on Logical Unit" mean? Does it suggest a problem with the drive? Or is it the media? I have already had 6 coasters. mmalves Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Use firmware HH17 (or HH18 if you know what you're doing), as having the latest firmware ensures the drive will use the best write strategy for each media. You might also want to cleans the lens on that drive. Try burning again with Verbatim, maybe you just had a bad disc. Reinstallation of driver did not help. HP's BIOS does not show if UDMA is enabled. I will post after making some more attempts. BTW, thanks for the wonderful ImgBurn guide. bambaibabu Posted February 1, 2009 Author Share Posted February 1, 2009 After spending hours on trying to make it use Ultra DMA instead of the no CRC Multi Word DMA 2 transfer mode; I gave up.
