I loaded a XGD2 ISO into ImgBurn and the Imp ID: was Sonic Scenarist, ok what kind of drives does Microsoft use to burn the game and why/how do they use that Imp

The Imp ID just shows they used Sonic Scenarist to create the master image (or at least the part of it that's visible in a PC).

 

As for the 'burning' of commercial discs, Google it.

The same way that commercial DVD's are, they are pressed, not burned.  Try looking at this short video:

What I meant for this topic is how do they make it so a normal drive can't see all the data it can only see like 150MB and would the copy protection be doing this?
