	i think my opinion/guess is that its prob just a bad batch. il most likely buy verbatim's branded media once Amazon Prime Day sales start, and then il test them if they are the same. i will also be visually checking them to see if they are using the same burning "die" even though its not.
</p>

<p>
	il also do some LDC/BIS scanning to see if they return the same quality or not. i usually save results to compare them in the future.
</p>

<p>
	though im not worried since i also have some printable disks i bought like last year and i also recently bought the last spindle of sony BD-Rs and 128GB disks.

	Pioneer is out of the business, so its no longer an option, and LG is crap at making blu ray drives for multi-layer blu ray burning. any alternatives?<br />
	<br />
	i suspect Verbatim will notice the drives they OEM from (LG) will start to make their customers being unsatisfied with the burns and will start complaining, which will force verbatim to demand LG to make their drives higher quality to properly burn discs. (Best case scenario)
</p>

<p>
	or this might be the end of blu ray burning.

	In the entire 26 years I've been burning optical discs, I've NEVER had happen what happened last night!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It started earlier in the day when I inserted a BD-RE into my drive and it made a loud grinding noise trying to read it.  The drive never did anything else out of the ordinary until a few hours later.  I was reading some data from a BD-R I had just burned to verify the contents when it suddenly made an even louder grinding noise than before and stopped reading the disc.  I discovered what had happened: the BD-R had broken up into 3 separate pieces INSIDE the drive!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Needless to say, I replaced the drive in question with one in reserve and I've had nothing untoward since.

	Good day folks,
</p>

<p>
	in a roundabout way of creating direct BitChannel control, I am seeking to get ahold of the “red book” EFM (eight to fourteen modulation) codex. <br />

</p>

<p>
	My project relies upon creating a consistent pattern of pits and lands on a CD-R. The purpose of this is to create a disc which has a pattern that resonates with a specific energy quality.
</p>

<p>
	I have actually acquired gold plated CD-Rs from MaM-A for this project too. It’s a bit “esoteric” in nature. ( all good and friendly intentions of course. For EMF protection tools actually. Happy to expand on this if anyone’s curious.)
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	As a relative novice in the field of optical discs, I have come to the idea that using specific hex code inputs to create a repeating pit and land structure is the simplest way to achieve my goals. However I’ve had a little trouble locating the 256 bit encryption key with which to select my inputs.
</p>

<p>
	Basically im creating a file on Powershell which then creates a .bin incorporating my chosen input pattern, and then using IMG burn to apply it to the discs.
</p>

<p>
	if anyone can help me get to the next step here that would be excellent. And im also looking to get on the phone with someone who’s more knowledgeable and have a chat about this topic. And to get a better comprehension of the technology as a whole. Willing to pay a reasonable consultation fee to anyone qualified who takes me up on this. <br />

</p>

<p>
	Im of course open to other suggestions as well, as I may be missing another better approach.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks for reading! <br />
	feel free to email me if you’d like to have a paid consultation gig;

	Hi, I'm new around here and this is my first post on ImgBurn's forum so bear with me <span class="ipsEmoji">🤔</span><br />
	<br />
	A friend of mine started doing a pretty nice project with an animated series I liked, but due to the sheer size the final result had I was in a pinch deciding where to actually store all of it... after thinking on the situation for a bit I reached the conclusion to use <u><em>BD-R</em></u> discs. For my needs best would have been <u><em>BD-R DL</em></u> or <u><em>BD-R XL</em></u> but their price kept me <strong>VERY</strong> far away, so <u><em>single layer (SL)</em></u> discs were the way to go.
</p>

<p>
	Considering the market in my state and prices in local retailers, I decided to get spindles of <u><em>MediaRange</em></u> BD-R SL discs at a price of <strong>0.59$/disc</strong> with shipping included. Upon the arrival of 4 spindles containing 25 discs each I started researching on the best method to burn BD-R discs with ImgBurn, after a few dozen discs burned with no issues, I wanted to see how high rated are they among other people by searching the disc's ID.<br />
	(<em>now imagine how deep my soul started sinking when I saw that CMC discs had a high failure rate after burning them an year or so later</em>)
</p>

<p>
	I've started doing a comprehensive list of .IBG files from ImgBurn's burning results, making snapshots of DVDInfoPro's graphs, gathering information about the discs and my Blu-Ray Writer, which doesn't have pretty good reviews either (<em>soul proceeds to sink deeper</em>) and I am now patiently waiting for them to reach 1 year old so I can start verifying and testing them if they <strong>TRULY</strong> are that cheap for a reason.
</p>

<p>
	I'll leave below Google Drive links of my research's results, so if anyone sees the information I provide here as useful and actually tries to work with these discs, tell me how it went in the thread.
</p>

</ul>

<p>
	And here is the data of the driver I've used to burn these discs with.<br />
	(<em>maybe relevant to those who burn the same discs but with another writer and have, or not, issues with the discs afterwards</em>)

	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	<strong>NOTE 1:</strong> Unfortunately, it would seem this Blu-Ray Writer doesn't support PIPO scans, so proper verification according to the standard of ImgBurn's team won't be possible unless I get my hands on one which supports it.<br />
	<strong>NOTE 2:</strong> I will update the content of the links above with more data after the first year since I burned the discs ends. As I will make a verification for each disc to see if they have any failures with VSO Inspector.<br />
	<strong>NOTE 3: </strong>Any ideas of how I could research the discs further would be an awesome help <span class="ipsEmoji">😥</span>                                                                                                               <strong>THANKS FOR READING!</strong>

	Hi! I've opened a new Topic on a storage media I recently got my hands on.
</p>

<p>
	This one is an entirely another beast, <u><em>triple layered</em></u> with even smaller <u><em>channel bit lenght</em></u> (<em>you'll see the values in the DISC INFO folder I'll share below</em>) compared to the previsiouly discussed <em><u>MediaRange BD-R SL (CMCMAG-BA5-000)</u></em>.<br />
	The story of this is that I needed a resilient storage media for a movie but considering the size of it I needed to find something of <strong>100GB</strong> or even <strong>128GB</strong> capacity(<em>like the BD-R <strong>Sony</strong> released in Japan a few years ago</em>). Of course I didn't find the 128GB BD-R variant in local stores (<em>which has 4 layers not 3 like this one</em>) so I went and made a list of BD-R XL 100GB variants from multiple stores. Best offer on price/disc was obiviously on spindle packages, which I didn't want to buy because I needed only one, but I remembered this disc also comes in <u><em>crystal cases</em></u> so I got just that variant even though the disc was a tiny bit more expensive, <strong>10.64$</strong> with shipping.
</p>

<p>
	Like I did for the MediaRange BD-R SL (CMCMAG-BA5-000) in my previsious Topic, I compiled in folders the burning process, logs, photos and snapshots of various burn quality research programs (<em>I plan to add soon <u>Error Checking</u> scans from <u>QPxTool </u>on this disc and all the discs from MediaRange BD-R SL which I've burned until now</em>).<br />
	You have below the Google Drive links of my research's results, so if anyone sees the information I provide here as useful and actually tries to work with these discs more than I did, tell me how it went in the thread.

</ul>

<p>
	<strong>NOTE 1: </strong>Before burning this disc I've flashed the driver with another firmware from <strong>ASUS</strong>: <em>DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK</em> (<em>MK comes from MakeMKV, their community changed the firmware a bit so we can flash it and to have all regions along with the writing/reading speed unlocked</em>).<br />
	<strong>NOTE 2:</strong> I will provide the QPxTool scans for Error Checking below in this Topic quite a while later, since it's very tedious to do, but I hope they help.<br />
	<strong>NOTE 3:</strong> The ImgBurn logs will be added not only here but also to my previsious Topic for MediaRange BD-R SL (CMCMAG-BA5-000).<br />

<p>
	There has been a decent amount of talk about the CMC Pro CD-R discs on the forum but there wasn't ever really concrete testing with some results, so I thought I might post my results including scans and such.
</p>

<p>
	I believe since I don't already have so many posts on the forum, I can't post in the media section, so I will put this post in the Chat section for now. Maybe an admin or higher level could move this thread to the Media section if suitable.

<p>
	I will try my best to follow the format of other media tests so it's easy to find information.

	I have the Lite-On ATAPI iHAS 122 F EL06 model and I don't know if it supports M-Disc DVD burning. What is the best software to check and which software is good for updating the firmware of this drive?

	How about making sure the completion dialog box is in front so it doesn't go behind then log window when completed?

<p>
	I have a bunch of LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS40 drives cross-flashed to WH16NS58. Nero Discspeed can do quality scans on DVD and DVD-DL discs with these drives. We moved from desktop computers to HP Elitebooks and now Discspeed no longer seems to offer the quality tab. (Yes, I took out the "Blocked" string in the registry.) There's no way to play with the SATA settings in the BIOS. Other than try another kind of computer, does anyone have any suggestions for a workaround?
