What is the best way to clean the drive? disc cleaner or airspray can? Any preference in brand?

I keep getting the Device Not ready ID CRC or ECC ERROR. I can shrink a dvd fine with dvd shrink but am unable to burn it w/ this program or with dvd decrypter and RecordNow! In the past i've burned many dvd's with no issue and all of a sudden it does not recognize the empty dvd's. I can still make a ISO file and watch dvd's. I've read the FAQ and previous posts and have tried various solutions but nothing works. I've bought better media(Taiyo Yuden-16x), uninstalled driver than rebooted, uninstalled IMGburn and reinstall. Played around w/ settings. I have also tried to find an updated driver but have been unsuccesfull in installing it.
