I would like to burn an ISO file to a USB flash drive.
When I bring up ImgBurn I am getting an error about the CD drive. I don't have a CD drive attached to this Laptop.
In the Destination It's showing "No devices detected". I do have the USB flash drive plugged in and I can view it via Explorer in Win7.
How can I get ImgBurn to recognize it as a Destination?

I started with a Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit DVD. I copied the files to my hard drive. I change one file to make it Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
By creating a new bootimg from a DVD it solved the problem. I just finished creating the DVD successfully.
Thank you,

I think I figured it out.
I'd like to make this DVD bootable. I think I selected the wrong bootimg. I just created a bootimg from another DVD. I'm testing it now.
Thanks,

The files I am trying to burn to a DVD is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit which should fit on a regular 4.7gb DVD. When I use the calculator it said the files took up 78%. The folder that includes all the files I am trying to write to the DVD is 3,337,339.331 bytes.
Maybe I'm selecting something incorrectly. I'm using the build mode.
Any ideas?
Thank you,

I started with a DVD +R. It gave me write errors. I noticed the write side of the DVD had blemishes.
I tried a DVD -R (I ran out of +R DVD'S) and it gave me an error saying the DVD was to small. I don't understand why.
Does this DVD writer only accept +R?
When I saw that it only supported write speeds of 6x, 8x, 16x I change it to 6x.
This is the log:

I would like to find a web site that will list the capabilities of DVD's.
I have a DVD that I am trying to burn DVD'S on and I can't get ImgBurn to write DVD's.
I'd like to know if it has the capability to write.
I'd like to know if it will only write DVD-R or DVD+R
The model is Matshita UJDA755Z
Thank you,

Am I to assume the burnt discs don't actually work?
Your drive appears to be producing discs that aren't quite right. Without trying them in other drives etc, it's impossible to say if the discs are 100% useless or it's just your burner that's having trouble reading them back.
I'd probably start by buying some decent Taiyo Yuden CDs and giving those a shot. If you're still getting the same problem, try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If it still doesn't work, you can probably just write your drive off as being faulty.
I tried the burnt disks in another PC. It couldn't read them. Do you know of a good cleaning disc to purchase? Maybe a good place to buy them? This PC is dual boot. I will also try booting into the other OS to see if it will burn properly.
Thank you,

I tried writing a CD and it looks like it wrote just fine. I get an error when it starts the verify process.
Could someone please let me know how to figure out if it's the DVD drive, a driver issue or the software I am trying to burn?
I did burn two different CD's with the same verify error.
I'm using Image Burn ver. 2.5.8.0

I'd like to know how to write a file with an extension of mrimg to a DVD.
The file was originally created with a back up program called Macrium Reflect.
When I point ImgBurn to the directory I don't see the files to select.
Thank you,

I just found the calculator button that tells me exactly what I was looking for.

Hi,
I'd like to figure out what size file I should specify when I create a backup with Macrium Reflect.
I understand that:
A single layer DVD-R holds 4,707,319,808 bytes
A single layer DVD+R holds 4,700,372,992 bytes
If I specify the file size in Macrium Reflect to be 4.6gb the file that gets written is:
Altap Salamander reports 4,294,956,134.
Windows 7 explorer reports 4,194,294Kb
With ImageBurn I don't see a way to tell how much space I have available to work with.
I really liked the gas gauge with Nero so I could figure out at a glance if I could fit more data on a DVD.
Does ImageBurn 2.5.5.0 show some place how much free space is left on a DVD?
Thanks for a great program,
Docfxit

If you only have 1 drive in your machine, that must be the GCR-8480B one... and that's NOT a burner.
Thank you for pointing that out to me.

I 08:34:18 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8480B 1.02 (G:) (ATA)
I 08:34:19 -> Drive 2 - Info: TigerJet CD-ROM v2.0 (D:) (USB)
So you have three readers/burners installed?
Actually there is only one that is currently available. Drive 1.
The Drive 2 is USB and is not currently plugged in.

I can't write an ISO to CD. It says "No writers detected". I have a CD burner in Device manager. How can I solve this?

You don't make an existing ISO bootable, you create a new one and make that bootable.
And how would a person go about doing that?

Follow this guide and, after step 4, look at the File Sys field: if the image is bootable it'll say ISO9660 (Bootable) in this field.
Thank you for the reply. Mine says ISO9660, Joliet.
When I try to boot from the CD it goes straight to the hard drive. When I start the laptop I select an alternate boot device (CD). It doesn't ask me to press any key to boot from the CD. I can boot from an XP Pro CD without any problems.
After I select an ISO image.
Since I made this CD I did go into:
Mode,
Build,
Advanced,
Bootable Disk,
Added a check mark in Make Image Bootable,
Changed extract boot image to CD,
Clicked on the Diskette to Extract Boot Image,
Told it where to save it.
What I don't know is how to handle the Boot Image or what to select now.
Thank you,

I have an ISO that was created with CTUpdate. I'd like to burn it with ImgBrun and make it bootable.
The iso has in it:
Autorun.inf
What do I need to do in ImgBurn to make it bootable?
Thank you,

EDIT - a quick google reveals that your TEAC DW 28E drive IS only a combo drive and CANNOT write to DVD, only to CD
Thank you. I'll have to see if I can get a DVD burner for this laptop.
Thanks,

Thank you for the reply.
If I follow your instructions it won't be bootable.
