  1. Hi mmalves, here I am again After burning and verifying 7 DVDs with no problem.... I got the same problem on 8th. Before your advice, almost every DVD needed 2 verifies, with an hard reset in beetwen. Now it's much better. Do you think it is better to look for another problem or keep the system as it is? Thank you again
  2. I think you have solved my problem Imgburn seems have no problem verifying DVD at MAX speed Should I keep looking for an updated nvidia driver or I can use this one with no drawback? I want to thank you very much!!!!!!
  3. I made some tests. I removed the two filters you said, but the problem is still there. I took image file and DVD and I tried to verify on another PC (different HW, different OS, different burner). It was ok, no hang. So I think it is not media problem. Because this second PC is very old, Imgburn did not verify faster than 2x. So today I tried to verify on first PC at 2x/2x speed. It was OK. So I tried in order: 2x/2x -> OK 3x/3x -> OK (even if Imgburn verified at 2x/2x) 4x/4x -> OK 6x/6x -> KO 5x/5x -> KO 4x/4x -> KO 3x/3x -> OK (even if Imgburn verified at 2x/2x) Do you think speed can be the right way to solution? Another thing: when Imgburn is waiting for the device, if I try to "safely remove" USB external hard disk, nothing happens, that is "removal" procedure is also waiting for something. I have not yet tried to use ASPI driver. Even if it says it's for win98, do you think I should try?
  4. Sorry for the delay. I was busy in the last days. One news: now I have a DVD that hangs every time I try to verify it. Not alway at the same percentage, but eveytime. This can sound as it's a media problem. I can play it jumping from a point to another with no problem. I will soon try to play it all. About your last advices: - If I try to remove filters, Imgburn says it can be possibile that some sw stops working. Which sw is it speaking about? - If I try to use ASPI interface, Imgburn says I must install a ASPI driver and I can find one on Imgburn site. Is it OK? Thanks
  5. It keeps on hanging It went all OK with first 2 DVDs but it hangs on third. Do you think I should try to use Nero to understand if this is a "machine" problem?
  6. Ok. Do you think I have solved my problem in this way? I start testing and I will let you know. Bye
  7. Ok, here I am. I installed nVidia drivers you told me. Again, no evidence on SIW. Maybe I look in the wrong place: Hardware->Motherboard I installed Sandra and I can't find any driver version under Hardware->Mainboard->Chipset Chipset Modello : AMD Athlon 64 / Opteron HyperTransport Technology Configuration Revisione : A1 Bus : HyperTransport Versione : 1.02 Velocit
  8. Ok, I will try drivers from nVidia site instead of drivers from ASUS site. Tomorrow I will not able to make this test, so I will post results next Friday. Thank you again Bye
  9. To update my chipset I am getting some problems because SIW says: Motherboard: Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer INC. Model M2N-VM Version Rev x.xx Serial Number MS1C84S18E03038 North Bridge NVIDIA nForce 560 Revision A2 South Bridge NVIDIA nForce 630a Revision A2 and I can't find chipset driver version. Anyway I downloaded and installed driver for Asus M2N-VM but SIW says the same as before. Thank you.

  11. Hi all, sometimes, after burning a DVD, process of verifying don't go on. It "hangs" on a certain percentage and time keeps going. Status bar say "Verifying Sectors..." If I try to close Imgburn, nothing happens. I can neither kill the process, even if I try to shutdown windows. I think the device takes controls and Imgburn is waiting for something. The only way to solve the problem is to switch my pc off. When OS restarts, I usually can verify the burn correctly. Any idea? Thanks Here is the log: I 17:13:36 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 17:13:36 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 17:13:36 Total Physical Memory: 3.144.940 KB - Available: 2.461.648 KB W 17:13:36 Drive I:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 17:13:37 Initialising SPTI... I 17:13:37 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 17:13:37 Found 1 DVD
  12. Thank you all. I tried to erase a (more) modern TDK-RW 4x and it works fine, so my burner works I have also updated firmware directly from samsung site but nothing to do with "medieval" Sony-RW 1x..... if I can't find a "medieval" burner I can throw them away Bye
  13. Hi, I just started with ImgBurn and I'm stuck with the first problem. I can't erase a Sony DVD-RW with some data in. I have set "DMA if available" in device manager for IDE ATAPI controller and "Auto" in BIOS but the problem is still there. What can I check? Thanks Here is the log: I 20:25:47 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 20:25:47 Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (5.0, Build 2195 : Service Pack 4) I 20:25:47 Total Physical Memory: 392.688 KB - Available: 117.240 KB W 20:25:47 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size.
