    BDMV & Certificate

    Just want to know the correct BD-R/RE structure. As I have searched, it should be the BDMV and Certificate folders.

     

    Use AnyDVD HD to rip to HDD.

    Use BDInfo to determe main stream.

    Use tsMuxer to import stream and output blu-ray structure to burn folder.

    Use ImgBurn to grab BDMV folder from the burn folder and Certificate folder. (up to this point certificate folder has two files and child folder with the same files).

    and then burn.

     

    Open explorer to check folder structure both folders are there but the Certificate folder is now empty and even though the child folder is present it is also empty.

     

    Any ideas? The BD-RE will play on the PC without any problems but not on the standalone.

    Read my post I posted about 2 weeks ago, I think it will help you. My problem turned out to be the stand alone player all along & not the media.

    This is from your log, and, as you can see, your disc uses Ritek dye. I'd try with Verbatim media :)

     

    Thanks so much, I'm on my way to go out & by some Verbatim BR-Re & a new player to try to elimate this problem & solve it once & for all. The good news is once I figure it out I can return to player (thanks Best Buy) lol. I will be sure to post my findings when I'm done.

     

    K here goes nothing, I bought the Verbatim BD-RE disc & it worked in my borrowed Samsung BD-P1500 player no problem. Tried my Memorex burned disc as well in the player & to my suprise it played. So I tried the Verbatim BD-RE in my Sharp BD-HP20 & it didn't work :( & neither did the Memorex BR-RE. So my conclusion is that Sharp sucks when it comes to stand alone BD players. Don't buy sharp. Oh btw here is my burn log from the Verbatim BD-RE, hope somebody can learn from this, my only hope is that Sharp has a firmware update that will fix this problem sooner than later !!!!

    It's impossible to say until you've tried a few different discs (with different dyes / MID's).

     

    If none of them work then it's probably the player.

     

    If some discs work and some don't then it's probably the discs (and a little bit of the player in that it doesn't support many dyes / MID's)

     

    Just finshed reading up on the dyes & it turns out that Pioneer and Mitsubishi have developed a method of creating recordable Blu-ray discs using an organic dye, which will significantly reduce the cost of manufacturing the high-definition media format.There will be a cut in costs as the new discs can be manufactured on modified CD and DVD production lines whereas, previously, BD-R discs could only be produced using inorganic dyes that required completely new manufacturing facilities.The unfortunate catch is that existing Blu-ray players will not be able to read the new discs, although it

    Have you tried playing this disc on other bluray players? Like a friend's PS3 for example?

     

     

    No you think it might be the player though? Also how do I enable 'FastWrite' in the settings so that ImgBurn will burn my disc faster than 1x , because i set it at 2x but it still burns at 1x

     

    By ticking it in write settings surprisingly

    You know that you don't need to erase DVD+RW, DVD-RAM or BD-RE media before rewriting on them, right? Simply click the Write/Build button and ImgBurn will ask you if you want to overwrite the disc :thumbup:

    I knew that about +RW and RAM, but not about BD-RE. Thanks for the tip. Too bad it's of no help with this current problem I'm having...

     

     

    why don't you try Cyberlink hi-def suite it works great to erase BD-RE's 25 & 50gb

    Ideally your machine should be using NTFS, not FAT or FAT32.

     

    My bad I just doubled checked my "C" drive & it is set at NTFS, so do you think it is my stand alone BD player or did you see something in the burn log that caught your eye?

    Also would it matter that my hard drive is set at FAT32 as I see some other people have theirs alocated to FAT ?

    Just a few short questions. First of all does anybody know why when I load my "BDMV" file to the build mode on "Write files/folders to Disc", in the information tab I get nothing, nothing regesters in that tab? I can burn the file though & when I do it burns all the way except when I try to play it in my stand alone Blu Ray player (Sharp BD HP20),with the latest firmware update in it as well, it does not play, I get the message "Cannot play this disc" Is it the player or me,lol. I am ripping the files with anydvd hd v6.4.6.8. I am using a LG GBW-H20L when burning & I am using BD-RE by Memorex. Also when I look at my files on my desktop in my "Stream folder" located inside my "BDMV" folder the files read MPEG-2 Transport Stream instead of M2ts, but when I play the files on my desktop when using Powerdvd in the player itself the file reads as it is playing M2ts, weird or what? Can anybody shed some light on this subject. Thank you to all in advance. Also I am a newbe to this whole Blu-ray thing.
