    i/o error

Hi cynthia, The computer hope post was my husband before i posted on here, he did not get any replies so i posted here. I gave up with the sony discs after going through the whole pack and lightning said they were no good. The verbatim has been better as they have stopped the i/o errors, so its just the pixelating that is the problem now with some burns. I just need to identify what it is that is causing it, as its so frustrating!! I will be buying a new dvd player but not sure why the one i have is playing some perfect and other with pixelation. julie

    i/o error

Hi again, I have re burned the dvd using a different disc that had been used once before and played perfectly, i did the scan prior to playing and it came up 74% quality so thought i would give it a go and watch it, after 60mins it started pixelating and freezing again, here is the log of the scan i did prior to watching it. What next?

    i/o error

Hi, I know about the RW discs but until i get the hang of burning and not making mistakes then i am going to stick with them, i have wasted so many discs now, the disc above was new and had not been used before. I did a scan of the disc that worked perfectly and that came in at 96% quality. Will run scans on my other discs now. So just to understand then the jumping and pixelating is still because of the media?? Thanks so far J

    i/o error

Would it play two fine and two badly? it played one for 1hr then started jumping so i did the lens clean and it played the rest fine, so i thought that was the problem until today when we just sat down to watch another one at 45mins in it started going wrong, here is the log for the one that jumped just in case there is something i am missing? feel really frustrated by this as i am new to this burning and want to get it right rather than give up!!!! I am getting a new burner soon as i am relying on my laptop which is new but realise that it is not the best thing for burning. Could it be something to do with the speed i am writing at, the burner is 8x and the discs i am using are 4x ???? i/o error

Get yourself some decent *write once* (i.e. not rewritable!) discs made by Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden and you should be ok. Hi, I tried it also with a decent disc though not the type you mentioned, it was a 'write once' + it was with these discs that it worked once only so after wasting a pack of 5 i then went onto the rewritable, which has worked twice? but failed the last 5 attempts here is the log for the one i tried with the 'write once' disc. Also just to say even though i am getting the i/o error the disc does still play on my laptop though not on my dvd player or ps3. I 08:00:14 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! 9. Hi, My first post!!! I have been getting an i/o error for my last 5 attempts! I read the forum and thought that the media i had was not good enough so went and paid for sony discs, the first one worked so i thought i had cracked it but the rest have had an i/o error below is the log of the latest failure, any help in what the problem is would be appreciated as i have gone through enough discs and do not want to give up!!!!!
