  1. ok, thank you. yeah, that was a bit of a long shot apparently. I looked it up a little, I'm not going to go through the trouble of modding my dvd drive. thanks, anyway
  2. Your standard tech support question, I think. Everything looks normal but I'm not getting any results. I'm backing up my copy of "the orange box" : ) It speeds through the image creation in just seconds, and the resulting image file is only a few megabytes. thank you
  3. yeah, it told me that it would fit on a single layer and i didnt need to use a dual layer, but its all i have so i told it to continue.
  4. ok. I'll do that I would normally put something like that on a single layer, but all I have right now are dual layers.
  5. I'm try to back up the file to a dual layer DVD. Here is the error that I'm getting.
  6. Im sure verbatims have been engineered with the purpose of playing in a dvd player or game console in mind. But there are obviously other opportunities to burn successful dvds. If I need a long lasting copy, I will get myself some verbatim. But if I'm just going to back up my games and avoid ware and tare, then I'll keep in mind that some off the shelf brands work to.
  7. Not more than two hours ago I brought home my new DVDs and begin just a normal burn of one of the images I'm trying to back up. "at least I'll know if its the media, the firmware or imgburn." The put the TDK DVD+R DL with disk id:CMC MAG-D02-00 into my SONY DVD RW DRU-V200A. I start just a normal burn of one of the .images I'm trying backup. and I let it run. It finishes and I'm skeptical. Long story short; I put it into my console and it runs smooth. "I can't believe it." The problem was corrected by changing brands. I never thought I would say that. In this case the change has more to do with choice of ink and the envisioned use of the disk, but all I did was change brands. Thank you to those who gave me insight into how this software works. Thanks for holding my hand. imgburn is kinda awesome. now I have to go back up more things; because I believe in protecting your property.
  8. Yeah I'm thinking that I have a media problem. Or at least I hope so. Because getting this to work well will prove easier. the disc I'm using Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x 8.5gb (media ID) Ritek - D01 - 01 the discs that work well and have been burned already. TDK DVD+R DL 8x 8.5gb (media ID) CMC MAG - D02 - 00 I wonder if that says anything. I'll buy some verbatim discs soon enough, I hope it will all work out. But Im trying these that TDK brand in the mean time. I guess I'm in general disbelief that the media I use could be so important in writing data to a disc. But I wont argue until I get there. thanks.
  9. ok, im going to get some TDK discs tonight, hopefully they work. And then I'll use verbatim from here on if it really is this important. I was just wondering if it was something obvious that I was doing. But if you think its ok, then I'll have some faith. Thanks. I just really want to back up my copy of Mirrors Edge really badly.
  10. I pretty sure its the discs. The files on the burnt Memorex disc are the same as the files on the TDK discs I bought from the modder who sold me the chip. So I assume the information is burning well. I wont buy these dvds anymore. I'm getting a different variety next. TDK for now (it's what the guy who modded my xbox uses and their everywhere) Then I'll order some Verbatim discs but I would like some clarification still. currently I'm trying to back up an image of Left4Dead. 1) I think I changed the booktype incorrectly. see image 2) can you tell if this drive is capable of burning DVD-ROMs this web page looks like it doesn't list DVD-ROM under (Supported Media Writing Standards) CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW http://www1.shopping.com/xPF-Sony-Sony-DRU...DE-Retail-Drive 3) If this is a firmware issue and not an Imgburn calibration problem then I can ask at in other forums.
  11. It's no good. Its telling me that its an "unreadable disk" in the xbox dashboard. I'll try what ever you can offer. and if you need screen shots of anything just say so. 12. the funny thing is, a tutorial told me to delete that line of code from .dvd file.
  13. I didnt learn about Verbatim until after I learned that I needed a layer break number. Let alone when I'm at Fry's buying dual layer dvd burner. I'll use them from now on. It would be nice if this was an easier experience. thank you
  14. so that would run as a ROM in an xbox360? so if the layer break was good, what then would I have left to calibrate?
