I might want to add that I can't find the folder with the log files. I know it's usually in the APP folder under roaming, but the thing is that folder is no longer there and when I try to create the folder again, it states there is already a folder by that name and if I create a new folder that some things may not function. Yet, the problem is, I cannot find that folder anywhere, even in a search. Sill I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me.

Well, I made sure everything was up to date, changed what disc I was using and now it's not burning at all. I wasn't able to get the log file as it disappeared as soon as I went to click on file to save it, as it always does, but I did type out the error that popped up in a separate window. This is the first time I've ever gotten an error with it. It always burns just not correctly. Now it's not burning at all. Do any of you know what this error means? Thank you for your help. I'll try to stick with Verbatim then, unless there's discs out there that's even better. I'm kind of new at burning anyway and is why I leave everything sort of on auto pilot. I'm not new to computers, only to burning and the software, or hardware related to it. The only reason I was using so many different kinds of discs was because of the playback and someone had suggested it might be the cheap discs I was using. Believe it or not, Verbatim was the first used and I haven't tried them again since I had the new burner installed so I will give them another go. I make quite a few home movies and they are for my kids who are thousands of miles away from me, and they were having problems getting them to play at all even though they're burnt region free. I just want to be able to burn things so I'm grateful that you've taken time to help me.Also, if DVD-R sometimes has problems because of the ink/dye, should I be using DVD+R or even the RW's? It's just I heard, (and I know how everyone has their preferences), that RW's were the worst to use and that -R were actually the better of the alternatives and is the only reason I switched. I can't afford this all the time and is why I switch to different discs, which ever is on offer at the time becomes the one used at the time, but I'll stop that if that's part of the problem. I'll also check to see if everything's up to date with the burner as well. Thank you again:D Forgot, I usually burn at 4X's instead of faster speeds, but I'll try it at 8 - 12X's

To the first question, I use all different brand DVD's when I burn. I don't opt to compress them in that way. I just let it select it automatically to fit onto disc, and even then if it doesn't fit, I don't back it up onto disc. As for a log file, I'll have to do it again, but the log files don't contain any errors at all. I just haven't burnt anything in a few days till I get a good idea as to why it happens this way. I do appreciate your help so later tonight or tomorrow, I'll pick a film I know has many flashing images, such as the club scene in the beginning of XXX (which always skips and freezes up on the back up copy) and show you the log file. Also, it doesn't seem to happen on the pc when I play it back, but it happens in any dvd player or playstation (worse, much worse, on playstation as it won't even play longer than a couple seconds at a time and freezes for up to a whole minute before advancing to the next scene and freezing up straight away). See, the one's I created an ISO for and burnt straight to disc using Nero, I didn't have any problems at all doing it that way, not on pc, dvd player or playstation, but I can't opt to do it that way with other files I download and burn using DVD Flick. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum I have a problem and I'm not sure that it's ImgBurn, but thought maybe someone would know. Every time I go to burn a dvd any flashing images in the film or extremely loud sounds cause the DVD's to skip and freeze on occassion. Everything else plays ok, music and DVD's that have been bought, or even burnt using a different pc, just not ones burnt on this one. All films that are quiet or have no flashing images play without any problems. I have used DVD Shrink and or DVD Flick to create the ISO images that are burnt and both get same errors. I use DVD- or + r, rarely RW but have used them also. I use all differnt kinds of DVDr's, such as Memorex, Verbatim, Kodak, and Tuff Disc. I took my pc and had the burner itself changed, but obviously isn't that and had the pc reformatted as well, so couldn't be any other than ImgBurn since it is the only consistent with everything, at least I think which is why I'm here. I love my horror films, and I need to back up ones I have, but if the DVD freezes when there's a loud sound or flashing lights or images, isn't really worth it so I was hoping someone here could help me, I'd appreciate it.
